Child Killed In Police Shooting Involving Child's Dad

Sorry. Race has NOT been mentioned at all.

The obvious fair question to ask is if would have been mentioned if the situation was reversed. Probably for another thread though.

Agreed it's for another thread. Just wanted to know.

News report says body cams show the drivers hands were up in the air when he was shot. There were no outstanding warrants.

I just read that about the hands being up. If true, this won't end well for the officers.

If this is true, and their lives were not in danger, I hope they get the needle.

The quote came from the attorney of the driver. I'll assume he wasn't lying but it will be interesting (and disgusting) to see the video.

BGP - a place where anger and hatred can be switched from one party to another in less than 20 posts.

I was ready to post something to the effect of "Will we ever see a day when criminals are the ones held accountable for their actions?" Thinking of the guy ramming a police car.

If the officers harassed the guy and then shot him and his son over a grudge, death penalty.

Well to be fair there were a lot of people defending the officers that, it appears, attempted to murder 2 people in cold blood and then lied about the circumstances.

And understandably so given the original story. This time it went from supporting the officers to condemning them--in several other threads it was reversed.

Like I said, after viewing the body cam footage, I would arrest both officers no matter what race they are.

I'm going to guess there is a history of some kind between all parties envolved.

Us bgp detectives are very limited with evidence, video and eye witnesses accounts of the crimes, but it never prevents us from rendering judgement swiftly. ;)

After viewing the body cam footage the judge set the bail on these two pieces of :poop: at $1 million each.

The poor father has not even been told that his son is dead yet.

It does appear that one of the deputies has a history with the mother of the slain child. Allegedly he may have pursued a relationship with her while and her fiancé, the boy's father, told him to stay away.

The mayor of the town that the two officers were working in had trouble with them, and it sounds like several other officers, in the past. He had been trying to clean up the force but was stymied by the review board. The officers both had really bad service records--it doesn't sound like they should even have had badges. Very sad situation.

I was just going to post about the fiancé. Just before the shooting didn't the father have his hands up? Or is that another incident? Either way it doesn't look good for the officers.

That was said by the father's attorney but it hasn't been confirmed. I'd have to think it was pretty bad for the judge to set such a high bail amount on 2 police officers.

Whoa. Didn't realize until now that one of the guys is an Alexandria, LA marshal. I've been there twice in the past year, and have good friends there. Not much there.

I sincerely hope that these 2 live a miserable life in general population followed by a painful execution. I can't believe that they were allowed to be cops at all.

I don't think two cops that are child murderers would last very long in there....:idunno:

On an unrelated note...did I see they were charged with only 2nd degree murder? How did they not get charged with attempted murder on the father as well? If he really had his hands up when the shots were fired, how is that not attempted murder?
