If Baker's not in the lineup, then I believe Bourbon County will win ... Heck, if Baker's in the lineup, I still believe Bourbon County will win!

Cats have suffered two embarrassing losses. I don't know much about Burbon Co. , but I would hate to be anybody coming into Putnam Stadium next Friday. Ashland will be fired up!

Hahaha, I was thinking the same thing. I had to read it twice to make sure I didn't miss a word or two.

If Bourbon had any chance at all, that went out the window last night. Cats won't lose at home after dropping two in a row.

I'll take Ashland. Don't know much about Bourbon this year but the Tomcats with Baker won't lose.

Does anyone know the extent of Baker and O'Bryan's injuries? I'm assuming they left the Tates Creek game for precautionary reasons.

 

As for Bourbon Co., it depends on which Colonels show up. Will it be the team that beat Southwestern and put scares into Scott and Pulaski Co.(minus Riley Hall)? Or will it be the team that got blasted by Paintsville and struggled to put away a down Mason Co. team?

 

If it's the former, this game could be interesting deep into the 2nd half with Ashland winning by a TD or two. If it's the latter, Ashland rolls.

Bourbon has given up 376 points or on average 37.6 points per game. Think Ashland wins this game pretty easy.

Ashland can run the ball, and Bourbon struggles to stop the run. Bourbon can throw it around, and Ashland doesn't look good against the pass. Could be a high scoring, shootout.

I have no idea of the condition of the young man currently but I can tell you what I saw at the game.

 

He went down early in the first quarter while he was on offense, stayed down for a few minutes and then left the field under his own power albeit with a slight limp. He stayed out, I believe the rest of that offensive series. The young man that replaced him ran the ball effectively. He was looked at briefly by the trainers on the sidelines but I don't think he returned on their offensive series.

 

On the their next defensive series he reentered the game on defense. Within the first couple of plays he was down again. This second time he went down he was not involved in the play. He was helped from the field this time and taken to the bench. His leg was elevated on the bench and an ice bag was placed under his ankle on the back side. He remained there on the bench for the remainder of the half.

 

After half time when they returned to the field, he did not take part in warm ups and was limping heavily.

 

For the people that think he was removed from the game to rest for playoffs, I think you are right, there was no reason to risk further injury. I have seen some others suggest that he may not have been hurt, but he was obviously hurting and would not been effective had he reentered the game. As far as his status for future games, I have no idea. His backups ran the ball well against Tates Creek, Maybe his absence on defense was actually more of a factor.

Wel if O'Bryan didn't return that and Baker didn't as well I think that loss to Tates Creek means basically nothing. How many other teams in the state could survive losing two D1 kids? Not many
