The wish bone takes a long time to be good at and takes a great offensive line which sounds like Ashland may not have if they are looking to run jumbo package

 

Ashlands line on both sides of the ball is excellent. Since they essentially line up and dare you to stop the run, I can understand running a jumbo package. As far as the wishbone, I'm not sure how long they have been practicing it, but I bet they didn't start this week.

Belfry runs the wishbone as good as any and it took 7-8games this year for them to get good at it a lot of timing and reading is what it takes to be effective if not a lot of turnovers (belfry early on )I would think huge mistake trying to implement this time of year

The only thing is, is, there is no tomorrow. I'd use whatever it takes to get the job done. Glad to hear they are utilizing all their assets.

I talked with a few people before the JC game who told me they would run both against them but did not. Think they ran the wishbone a few times last week against Tates Creek with very good results. They have practiced both since summer camp started in July.

I'll trust the coaches to make that decision. They certainly have the athletes to make it work. Imo, it would be very hard for anyone in 4a to stop Ashlands running game if they can run the wishbone effectively.

Think when their back is against the wall maybe the Scott or JC game you will see it ran both of them. These teams will have not seen it on film or prepared for either.

Don't count Bourbon out just yet. If the right team shows up they may put Ashland on the ropes. Should be a competitive game if the weather conditions hold up. Bolin has a very accurate arm and good receivers.

Bourbons QB can really spin it! I think they can scored on Ashland. If Ashland is full strength I don't be Bourbon can win.

I could do without the thunderstorms. The Ashland/GW game didn't end until after midnight due to storms in the area.

Bourbon has taken a step back this year....after taking a step back last year. I simply cannot see BC beating Ashland @ Putnam. Not gonna happen.

Looked at Spencer's (WOWK) Friday football forecast looks like the rain will be over before kick offs in most of Eastern Kentucky. Wind will be a factor though.
