So...you're a visiting team..., and one of the dads actually damaged very expensive private property rather than moving...? Or rather than leaving? Because he was annoyed, he has the right to damage someone else's PA equipment?

 

I doubt you're condoning such behavior, but at the same time, I expected some kind of comment about how ridiculous such behavior is.

2. there was no place else to move that night

3. It wasn't an expensive piece of equipment, the cord he cut was the same sort of cheap speaker wire you run to your 6x9's in a 76 Pinto

4. Speaker behind home crowd was mounted higher and wasn't as loud, the PA (Play by play) guy was also directing comments towards our fans.

 

So while I don't condone what he did, I didn't lose any sleep over it either. It probably cost less than 8 inches of electrical tape to fix that expensive "System".

I can also do with the Homecoming Court being introduced at halftime. They already get a parade!

Parents who trash kids in the stands for mistakes because their little Johnny is better. Also parents who walk right behind the stands to smoke. Last year it caused my son to have a minor asthma attack.(notice this a lot in southern KY)

Oh and the idiots that came over to the visitor side last year and were talking trash to the visiting team players on the sidelines...

The only reason they exist at football halftime is because no one would go see who won/know which girl won otherwise.

 

Schools which do homecoming before the game get bonus points.

I think this thread is funny because it gives us all a chance to complain, and I am going to bite. When I was coaching there was nothing worse than hearing a parent trying to call out a coaches decision making or the players execution or want to try to talk to you about it at halftime (if you are a coach in the box walking down at half) or whenever. The very same parents that think their son should be playing but is not willing to take the time to be a coach or put in the work it takes. That is one thing that drives me crazy more than anything.

 

As a fan, I would have to say the umbrellas when they are held up high or when someone is standing. Buy a Poncho!!! ha ha

And I have seen Football Moms rightly yell at the cheerleaders to "Do something!!!"

 

I once saw a mom tell the cheerleaders "C'mon girls, we're losing because you're not cheering enough." She was dead serious.

I could do without parents in the stands that yell instructions to the coaches or remarks at the officials. You do know that they can't hear you, correct? It's outdoor with so much background noise and in most cases you're 100's of feet away at the very least.

 

Also, do you see how hard it is for a coach to get a player's attention from the sidelines? The kids don't hear you either! Not to mention they are wearing helmets and concentrating on more important things than what you think should be happening!

 

Cheer, yell, make noise, "BOO" if you prefer or support in any way. But when you are trying to interject instructions or opinions, you really look foolish.

I love the people who get upset because the picture of the homecoming king/queen didn't appear in the sports page. Just because it happened at a sporting event, doesn't mean it belongs on the sports page.

I'm going to step in it now. I think the whole SENIOR NIGHT thing is way over blown. Yes, recognize your seniors and thank them for what they've done but the lengthy introductions of every one of them, their parents, their aunts, uncles, siblings, pets etc., their favorite memory, their wish for the future ans so on is ridiculous.
