England was in maybe five plays. Might have gotten another series in, I cant remember. It was just the second week after tearing his groin and straining his hamstring. Tried to play anyway but couldn't cut or burst. Bateman was injured with some tendon in his hip or something. Birch was the Rb for 98% of the game. Different story for this year's game. Everybody is healthy on both teams. No excuses. Whoever wins is just better plain and simple. I like our chances. Rain and mud will be to Coopers benefit. If it's dry it's to Ryle's.

I attended that game last year and the better team won last year plain and simple. Ryle didn't show anything to make it look like they would win even if England played more than the 15 snaps he played. Cooper that game had the majority of their starters also making their first varsity start ever and still won. Now this year is a new year, and Ryle added a top notch QB to their team. So this should be a good game to watch. No matter what fans of both sides should avoid saying to much after this game, because these two teams very easily see each other again in the playoffs and that game the loser's season would be over. I will try to attend this game, because it should be a good one. It's nice having two very good schools in the same area.

Ryle is just too deep for Cooper to keep up with for the entire game. Cooper plays a lot of kids both ways. 3 out of 4 defensive lineman also play o-line. I think Cooper will hang with Ryle for a while, but look for the Raiders to pull away midway through the 3rd quarter. Ryle wins 35-14.

It seems like people have said that a few times about Cooper, and each time it hasn't been a problem. It was said before the Highlands game and it didn't matter, and it was said before the Simon Kenton game and even though they lost I believe in the second half Cooper was even with Simon and held them to their lowest scoring output of the year. So that has been a common thing people have said this year, but it hasn't seemed to been a problem for them yet. It should be a fun one Friday night with two very good teams.

I can honestly tell you I don't know who will win this game. I hope Cooper does, but either way these are two very good teams and whoever wins will deserve it. I have a feeling these two will be meeting up again in the post season so we will have another great battle to look forward to.

should be a heck of a game, I don't have a dog in the fight, but am going to go out on a limb and pick Cooper to win by 3.

Just an FYI for all you score comparison people. When Ryle played Lex. Cath. at Lex Cath they played agaisnt a young man playing QB who is a D1 athlete weather it be at QB ro whereever they want to play him. Also their D1 tailback was at full strength that night also. I know the QB didnt play against Cooper and the Running back was very limited if played at all. Tough to use their speed on the outside when no one can get them the ball.

Comparing scores is tough because you do not know what players played etc. I think I remember last year England nor Bateman played against Cooper. Cole Birch played running back and he is now not seeing the field on the offensive side of the ball until late in games.

It will be a good game with two contrasting styles of play. Should be fun for the fans to watch!

Lex Cath had two starting O lineman out vs Cooper as well. Comparing the Lex Cath team vs Cooper and ryle is apples and oranges. Same Offense, but zero execution vs Cooper. I will give Cooper Credit, they gang tackled the crafty wide receiver for Lex Cath. Took him out of the game. But Lex Cath didn't utilize him the way they did vs Ryle because of they didn't have Legend Brumbaugh (QB)

Don't know who will win and have no dog in the fight. I'd rather see Cooper win though if only because there is just one obnoxious Cooper fan on here versus multiple obnoxious Ryle fans!

Their tailback had a cast on his right hand and forearm vs Ryle didn't he?

Which WR are you talking about?

Don't know his name. #3 I believe. Kid caught everything vs Ryle. Very elusive. Cooper did a great job gang tackling him, made him a non factor

You are so right. I never thought I would end up rooting for Simon Kenton to win a game but I am at that point when the Ryle game comes up in the next week or two. If Cooper wins this one, then it may be the best of both worlds - Ryle loss here and an SK loss there.

To be fair though, you'd really have to look at common opponents to get a better feel on both teams defenses and offenses. Offense Ryle is better and I'd say that all season long. The 3 headed running attack is pretty tough to stop. With that said, common opponent would be Lexington Catholic who Ryle I believed hung 50+ on them, cooper only hung 35 on them. But the big difference is defense. I believe Lexington Catholic Hung 30+ on Ryle while Cooper shut them out.

Should be a great game.

Let's leave out the fact Lex. Cath's. best player there QB didn't play against Cooper. I'm sure this didn't make any difference though. :sarcastic:

No, he is not and no, it wouldn't have made a difference.

#3 is Ogbogu and yes he is very good. By far his best game was vs Ryle.

I am a Ryle fan. And I agree. There are a few people that get on BGP and give Ryle a black eye with all the trash they talk.

Just curious where you got those scores? Ryle vs Lex Catholic was 31-24 and vs Cooper, they put up 28-0 vs Lex Cath.
