Cooper won't change much or try to disguise anything, that's just not what they do.

Cooper's 4-3(Occasional 3-4) defense has the OLB's wider than their DE's and if you are going to try and hit quick stuff to the slot you better see them and read them correctly. Their OLB's hole drop and make a lot of plays on the ball that most teams don't. Also, they eat bubble screens up and make it look easy.

When you watch Cooper and see how they are lined up pre-snap(same look every play) everyone thinks they can just throw bubble screens all day long. But after a couple of those quick bubbles are completed and the coach sees he only gets a couple of yards or so, the head scratching starts.

Facing a spread passing team is nothing new to Cooper. They see Conner every year and Conner's passing game is more sophisticated than Ryle's.

Was more sophisicated, last year we didn't get past page 5 of the playbook. This years team has no comparison to last years team.

If you say so, I see the same route combos as last year....the same ones that were ran at LexCath. Difference this year is that someone is making the reads and delivering the ball on time consistently. On top of that, Tanner doesn't try to force it when things are not there, he makes good decisions and just tries to takes what the defense gives him. He throws the ball with a purpose, not just to get rid of it!

A passing game doesn't have to be sophisticated to be highly effective.

Hmmm ... really? Ryle has more athleticism than Cooper? I don't see that. Where do you see that? I see skill positions even in athleticism and I see Cooper's line being more athletic than Ryle's.

Cooper has three kids that carry the load. Brown, Hendrix. Armstrong. We have so many kids that have and contribute each and every game. You can't key on one kid or one concept because the others will kill you. Even SK was more one dimensional with Powell carting the rock so much which made it easier to slow them down. We don't have that issue and you have to defend the whole field. Somewhere we will have one or two mismatches to take advantage of. Stop the big fellow and here is the quicker little fellow, or the hybrid. Stack the box Long or Ashley or Pogliano, or Beagle will take you there too. Play vanilla and watch us walk down the field.

He has alot more control at the line than people know and give him credit for.

If Tanner isn't allowed to call any play he wants at anytime in the game no matter the situation, they should fire the OC/QB Coach/ HC.

He can, and not many Hs Qb's have the ok or ability to do so.

I won't go as far and say that every coach that does not give the control to his Qb should be fired...but I would love to hear why the coach can't coach his guy well enough to take on that responsibility. An extremely small amount of Qbs lack the ability to be able process what they need to know.

I am glad that Tanner has that freedom to make those decisions. Having that responsibility helps him to grow and develop his leadership skills that will help him the rest of his life on and off the field.

Good comments. The bold is exactly what will happen if they don't play up on receivers. Morgan is smart and accurate. Give him those 5 yard pitch and catch plays and it will be the easy for Morgan and co.

I agree. This is what they did against HHS. Up and down the field. Ryle and Morgan are versatile. But I think Cooper can and will slow them down. Should be an outstanding game and chess match!

Just an FYI for all you score comparison people. When Ryle played Lex. Cath. at Lex Cath they played agaisnt a young man playing QB who is a D1 athlete weather it be at QB ro whereever they want to play him. Also their D1 tailback was at full strength that night also. I know the QB didnt play against Cooper and the Running back was very limited if played at all. Tough to use their speed on the outside when no one can get them the ball.

Comparing scores is tough because you do not know what players played etc. I think I remember last year England nor Bateman played against Cooper. Cole Birch played running back and he is now not seeing the field on the offensive side of the ball until late in games.

It will be a good game with two contrasting styles of play. Should be fun for the fans to watch!

^^ Not to mentioned 2 starting OLine were out due to injuries vs Cooper. ^^

I have to say that I have not seen Cooper play this year so me predicting result doesn't carry much weight. But in High School Football a QB that has ability to get the ball in the hands of playmakers is so key. Many times teams have great playmakers but can not seem to get them involved. This year Ryle has an abundance of talented folks on offensive side of ball and has a QB that has ability to get it to them, and a coach who allows it. Cooper definitely has some great playmakers as well. I think between two relatively evenly matched teams, the QB and Number of talented skilled players gives an advantage to Ryle and they are able to win this one.

Just watched the Dixie, Cooper game, final should have been 35-21, after watching this game, I couldn't be more confident that Ryle will handle Cooper rather easily.

By that same logic you should pick Cooper,, Ryle beat Lexington Catholic by 7 points,, Cooper held them to zero points and very little offense at all. This is going to be a close game,, but I think Cooper edges Ryle

The Tailback played the entire game against Cooper.

also last year England did play against Cooper. I don't know about Bateman because I never paid attention to him last year.

England was in maybe five plays. Might have gotten another series in, I cant remember. It was just the second week after tearing his groin and straining his hamstring. Tried to play anyway but couldn't cut or burst. Bateman was injured with some tendon in his hip or something. Birch was the Rb for 98% of the game. Different story for this year's game. Everybody is healthy on both teams. No excuses. Whoever wins is just better plain and simple. I like our chances. Rain and mud will be to Coopers benefit. If it's dry it's to Ryle's.

Ryle is just too deep for Cooper to keep up with for the entire game. Cooper plays a lot of kids both ways. 3 out of 4 defensive lineman also play o-line. I think Cooper will hang with Ryle for a while, but look for the Raiders to pull away midway through the 3rd quarter. Ryle wins 35-14.
