Ryle cause of their size and has more athleticism on the field.

I do respect the opinion, but I was hoping that you could elaborate a little for me please. Outside of Ross and England, this is one of the smaller Ryle teams that I can remember especially on their O and D line. I also do not think that the athleticism is that different between the two teams also. Just hoping you could give some specifics to your post, if you don't mind.

Hmmm ... really? Ryle has more athleticism than Cooper? I don't see that. Where do you see that? I see skill positions even in athleticism and I see Cooper's line being more athletic than Ryle's.

Good comments. The bold is exactly what will happen if they don't play up on receivers. Morgan is smart and accurate. Give him those 5 yard pitch and catch plays and it will be the easy for Morgan and co.

I am assuming you are talking about playing walked up either tight man to man or bump and run.

Again, I disagree on how I think they will and should play pass coverage. Cooper's corners will probably line up at about 7 yards and then do their drop, reading their keys. The goal is to break on the short stuff an meet the receiver when the ball arrives. Hard to sustain drives if you are hanging your hat on that approach because you have to make a lot of those plays.

If they walk up tight on them, now you have a safety type kid trying to get his hands on a slot. That scenario is an OC's and QB's dream!

Now, I do agree on Morgans ability but it is tough to do, however he certainly is capable of executing it and making the plays. Cooper just wants him to make a lot of plays.

In high school, any team that has decent knowledge of the passing game, will make a man to man defense look silly. Now you can throw it in every once and awhile, preferably to only one side of the field but mixing it in I think is a good thing.

I will take Cooper on this one. TCA is a player that is fueled by criticism and doubt. I look for him to have a good game and by keeping the ball on the ground cooper limits Ryles chances.

I agree. I don't ever remember Cooper playing their corners up on the line of scrimmage, they are usually playing off the line which helps prevent some deep balls that many teams like to throw.

Should be interesting. I actually think the key to the passing game for Ryle is if they can contain Marcus Watson on the line. If they can't then Morgan may be running for his life a lot which makes it very difficult to go downfield for abig plays. I actually think Watson will be the key to whether or not Cooper can shut down the passing attack or not.

^ doubledeuce ... Mix it up. Some bump and run here and there but more about tighter to the line coverage. I also would shade to the inside to try and take away slant routes. Give some cushion but show 5 yards at the most in pre-snap. Show the 10 yards off the receiver slot coverage all night pre-snap and game over. Morgan will hit that receiver all night. Cooper will really need to disguise coverage and mix it up to keep Morgan in check. The pre-snap look is huge against Morgan. He will change plays on what he thinks he sees. I would even say you might get a pick or two if you confuse the look. He likes to make quick decisions and get rid of the ball. Is that doable?

Yup that's how I see it. More size and athleticism

If I were the Cooper D-Coordinator I would keep the safeties rolling by changing from Cover3 Cloud to Cover3 Sky. But this also depends on the athleticism of the Cooper LBs. Varying between these would give a Cover 2 look to Morgan getting him to put the ball in the middle of the field where there is a safety rolling to. Another coverage I like is the Cover 2 Man. Not many schools use this one but it can be very effective against a Deep Threat QB. Keeps the man to man coverage under with extra help over top.

But if its raining Friday shots downfield will be harder to come by and plays in the favor of Cooper

Cooper won't change much or try to disguise anything, that's just not what they do.

Cooper's 4-3(Occasional 3-4) defense has the OLB's wider than their DE's and if you are going to try and hit quick stuff to the slot you better see them and read them correctly. Their OLB's hole drop and make a lot of plays on the ball that most teams don't. Also, they eat bubble screens up and make it look easy.

When you watch Cooper and see how they are lined up pre-snap(same look every play) everyone thinks they can just throw bubble screens all day long. But after a couple of those quick bubbles are completed and the coach sees he only gets a couple of yards or so, the head scratching starts.

Facing a spread passing team is nothing new to Cooper. They see Conner every year and Conner's passing game is more sophisticated than Ryle's.

What is there to elaborate? The line is bigger all around, which I came to a conclusion of SIZE. Athleticism in Ashley, Bateman, Morgan, England, Chisholm, Long, Beagle... Is that enough or do I need to mention more?

Again, you have no clue what you are talking about. Cooper won by 28. And I do not have any hatred for Ryle, I think they are a talented team and are doing a fine job. I like when both teams from Union are killing it. But I use the term precious because you all think that you are on a different level than everyone else. This was the same attitude you took into last years football game and you lost that game as well.

You can try and misconstrue my words all you want but at the end of the day these are two good football teams playing against each other. It is a game that will be fun to watch as both teams strengths are matching up together. Cooper's strong D that is very stingy on the run and doesn't USUALLY give up the big plays against Ryle's balanced attack on Offense. I am really looking forward to this game and hate that some people live on their pedestal on here and make it less enjoyable to discuss the match-up.

Well we are 6-0 ,and you are 4-2. Yeah sure those last three years really put is on a pedestal. No pedestal, we just plan on winning.

Cooper hasn't played 3 winless teams this year to pad their stats.

You care to state who Cooper's wins are against. The two teams with winning records they played resulted in losses. Lopsided ones at that.

2 deep man under is basically only used in 7-7 and that is because of math. If a team is playing 2 deep man under and the offense comes out with 4 wide outs, say 2x2 or 3x1 either one, that leaves 5 guys in the box to stop 7.

If Cooper plays 2 deep man under Ryle when run the ball till the cows come home!

I agree!
