Do you think you could complete an NFL pass?

Featured Replies

Manning is old as hell and slow as hell. With some practice I think I could drop back in a similar time as him.

I think his "time to release" are still faster than most in the NFL. In 2013 he was the fastest getting rid of the ball.

Highly unlikely I would. It would be luck and throwing to a predetermined spot and pray the receiver gets there. I think it is really, really doubtful due to the passing windows being tight and close quickly. The speed of everyone is an experience I have never had. Besides I would be petrified seeing a DeMarcus Ware bearing down on me. I would get in the fetal position quickly!

He is old and slow as hell compared to those around him. He is still a heck of an athlete making an athletic move. If you could get back there at the same speed, no way any of us could read what was happening during the 5-7 step drop and know when to step back up in the pocket. Oh yeah, and still deliver a catchable pass.

No doubt, but we aren't going to be making any reads. We are throwing it as quick as possible to one person.

I'd love to try. I want to say "yes" but have no basis for that.

For what it's worth, I've never played QB except for several seasons of flag football.

If Manning is slow dropping back (and he is), we would look like a cardboard cutout of Manning dropping back.

I disagree, I think with some time to prepare you could do it in a similar time. Completing the pass is a different story.

I also think if you are not over 6' tall you would have no chance. I don't think you would be able to see anything and about 80% of your throws would be knocked down at the line and the other 20% were just lucky to get through.

It depends on how open the receiver is and how well you throw it to him. If you are given 20 tries, you are bound to get it once.

I could complete a pass...it just might be to the wrong team.

I think I could, would it take about 1,000 attempts. Perhaps, but eventually I'd get at least one.

Yes.

I played QB in high school.

I didn't know that Deuce, I am impressed.

As to the question, yes I think I could but I would probably have a 20% completion percentage and I would complain that AJ Green just doesn't do enough to help his QB (me) out.

Yes in four downs. Timing routes like hitch , out, whip, maybe even a drag. Now, longer or intermediate throws no, like 20 yard comebacks, third read deep posts etc your arm would not be strong enough.

I have an NFL lineup around me and the receiver knows where he is going.

Some variables not mentioned are what defense is being played on my four downs. Above all that would skew your four tosses and chance for success.

Heck, if I knew where the defenders would be that would make it much easier. :D
