Do you think you could complete an NFL pass?

I didn't know that Deuce, I am impressed.

As to the question, yes I think I could but I would probably have a 20% completion percentage and I would complain that AJ Green just doesn't do enough to help his QB (me) out.

No way on earth you would have a 20% completion percentage.

If AJ Green would get his act together... Just sayin.

And I was really thinking about 10% but 20% just sounded better.

Oh, I can throw a 20 yard out. :watching:

Kinda on the same subject, it would be awesome to be able to throw to an NFL receiver. Just having them run routes and throwing to them. I'd love to do that.

If Manning is slow dropping back (and he is), we would look like a cardboard cutout of Manning dropping back.

I think arm strength is the much bigger issue.

Agree, I would just love to toss the ball around with some of them in the off season, that would be a lot of fun.

Call up AJ, tell me when and where.

I'll bring Antonio.

I just think about guys that hover at, or are below 50% (Tebow, Kaepernick, etc.). They are terrible at throwing the ball, but they are at least trained professionals. If anyone could complete at a 10% clip that would be beyond remarkable.

If you answer "yes" I need to ask if you've ever played QB at high school or above.

I was not a QB in high school but once had to play QB in a JV game due to injury. Just dropping back and trying to determine who is where WHILE noticing linemen coming after you is shocking. That was a JV game. Now imagine doing that with 6'4 to 6'7 guys in front of you and WR/DBs flying around at a very high speed while running very complex strategies.

And you tell me you could complete a pass?

yes

If the defense knows Joe Football is behind center I don't think it's going to be as easy as you think. If you are getting normal defense vs typical NFL QB I think you might have a shot at TE pass over the middle for 5-8 yards and that's about it.

I just think too many of you all are overthinking this.

You make it sound like you wouldn't be able to field a grounder if a major league ball player hit a grounder to you. It's not like it would be a miracle. Some of you act as if all of a sudden you forget how to throw. Sounds like a bunch of non athletic types on this board. Hey guess what? I bet I can make a NBA 3 pointer too if given enough shots.

I bet ya couldn't if LeBron or Kobe were guarding ya....

The difference is you're going against elite defensive players that are trying their hardest to stop you. A more appropriate comparison would be saying you could get a base hit off Clayton Kershaw...Not going to happen.

You also forget I also said give me Cowboys O-Line, remember there are offensive players that are trying their hardest to keep me upright plus the fact it would be a quick slant it's not like I'd be holding onto the ball for 3, 4 or 5 seconds

I just learned though at a BGP get together and if a flag football game breaks out, the only one I want on my team is Deuce, the rest of you non athletic people are embarrassing haha.

Or we simply don't have over-inflated unrealistic views of our athletic abilities....

I have a roughly 50%-60% completion rate against a very good middle school defense with a youth sized football. I think I could complete a pass in the NFL....but it wouldn't happen often, especially under real game conditions. Maybe one out of 20 throws if I could survive the beating to get 20 throws.

No.

Outside of a few very confined plays like a play-action rollout to the TE or a quick screen to the RB it's almost delusional to say yes. If you're under 6' 4'' you'll have a hard time seeing over the line, let alone getting the ball out clean. Even if you were throwing a quick slant or timing route you also have to consider there are linebackers and ends dropping into coverage who are faster than anyone you played high school football with. You have to thread it into a very precise area to give your receiver a chance. Then you have to lace it with enough zip that the DB doesn't have enough time to swivel back around and break it up. No way.

I will add one caveat. I could possibly complete the pass Flacco lobbed to Forsett as he was falling down for a ten yard loss that Harbaugh challenged. :lol2:

Poor analogy. A grounder doesn't require timing against a player draped all over you against a rush. If a NBA defender leaves me open I, too, can hit a 3 pointer. Again, completely different.

A NFL Pro Bowler completed 6 passes in a game yesterday and you are going to complete 16% of that? Come on.
