HHS Faithful have stated they have several talented freshman and 8th graders. Im sure they will be better ntex season than they are thos year amd possibly back on top in two or three seasons

It's one year. They will be fine. Do they have to go undefeated every season?

Now for my sarcastic answer.

What does HHS Football have to do to rebound? Stop scheduling NKY teams :ylsuper:

When they start ducking NKY teams again!

When they beat SK this week.

I wont go on and on about the cyclical nature of student athletes, because Highlands hasn't faced that in a long time. Yes some teams were more talented than others, but this obviously is a cycle they have not faced in some time. Highlands will be fine, a challenging year or two only makes climbing back to the summit more meaningful. This is nothing more than a small blip on the radar.

Please define "rebound"?

Is that win their next state championship? Is it to regain position at the top of N Ky rankings?

The district football season hasn't even started as of yet, and the Birds are being dismissed. At this point no one is even sure the Birds won't proceed as deep in the playoffs as any other N Ky large school.

I'll wait and see if the term rebound even applies.

My gut tells me another year or so. I have girls in the system now, so that's why I say my gut. Boys are on the way! I've heard these two classes just weren't as deep as others. Once you start mixing in some of the nice young talent, it will get back to what most are used to seeing.

However, I don't buy into the fact that this team can't and shouldn't be performing better than they are. All their struggles are not from size and talent. We've had teams in the past be very successful that were very undersized and about the same talent level. This team needs to start coming together and realizing for about 30 seniors, there is no tomorrow! It's now or never. Most will be playing their last game of football within a couple months. They can pull it together and be competitive. It's all on them...in my opinion.

By rebound, I mean being able to compete with any team in any class in any state.

Wow.....so when will the rest of NKY rebound then? Oh wait, I guess you have to have had success in the above in order to rebound. Birds will be just fine.

When Does Highlands Football Rebound?

Friday September 25, 2015 7:00pm of course.

I really think this team is a ticking time bomb. They might not be the most talented squad but it's still Highlands. While its not fair to these boys I feel they are carrying 100 years of birds football on their backs. When it finally clicks I feel sorry for whoever they are playing. I'm not even a fan of the birds and to be honest have enjoyed their early struggles but it won't last forever.

I'm never one to say that its over especially after only half way through the season but this is not the same Highlands team that people expect to see. Hopefully things get clicking and luckily for them the other members of the district aren't outstanding either but it's hard to imagine that they make a long run in the playoffs. The season is usually an indicator of the post season possibilities. If highlands is going to start winning, now would be the time.

When Dale comes out of retirement.
