I really think this team is a ticking time bomb. They might not be the most talented squad but it's still Highlands. While its not fair to these boys I feel they are carrying 100 years of birds football on their backs. When it finally clicks I feel sorry for whoever they are playing. I'm not even a fan of the birds and to be honest have enjoyed their early struggles but it won't last forever.

 

This team, like the others before it, stand on the shoulders of those that came before them....that tradition will continue, but there will be years of thin wins.

 

Birds will be fine.

I remember a NewCath team losing five regular season game and then bringing home the hardware. Same thing for Trinity one year.

 

This year is far from over.

No thanks necessary. Contrary to the belief of some, it was meant as a compliment. I have the greatest respect for what Highlands has done and the fantastic reputation it has helped create for Kentucky football. I was asked what rebound meant. In my mind, this is what Highlands should aspire to and what I hope it will achieve. I hope they become that team that the Cincinnati schools have to think twice about scheduling.

I've really only read one person who seems to think it's coaching but I might have missed some. I'm not close to the program but those I've spoken to that are have not had a bad word to say about either the coaching or the team chemistry. I think you nailed it that some years you just don't have everything fall in to place that enables you to beat the good programs. People forget that these are good teams beating the Birds. I do think the talent is there to be a factor come post season.

Nah really not that easy. Think there are plenty of people in line to continue carrying that purported axe that you talk about thus my bag of popcorn.
