Ryle 52 Campbell County 7

As much as it pains me to say it(joking) SK has been the most stable team in NKY 6A over the past 5 or 6 years. Ryle, Dixie and CCHS all have had mixed results in that time frame.

I might be wrong but I think they've had 4 different district winners in 5 or 6 years so stability may not be the word. However, SK has been the most stable in making runs in the playoffs.

Did this thread jump the shark about two pages ago??

No, I AM correct.

You keep mentioning "full ride." At the FBS level (UC, Penn State, UK, etc) ALL offers are full ride.

What you may be referring to is "committable offers." For example, John Anthony said that Drew Barker only had 2 committable offers. What he was trying to get people to believe is all of his other offers were not which , par for his posts, was not true.

There are lots of kids with offers that could NOT call today and commit. That doesn't mean it will not be at some point but there is a difference.

True.

I don't think Ryle was in a down cycle as much as they were underutilizing their talent. That's why a change was made and you see the result of that in year 2.

Call it what you want but my point is that Ryle along with every other 6A program in NKY has up and downs. That's just how it is with the large school districts. A indicator of how good a program/coaching staff/administration is how quickly can they rebound.

Many Ryle fans have alluded to these next 2-3 classes being really good. So was it the change in coaching or that the talent has started to arrive on the scene again...supporting the statement that it comes and goes?

Please, what did the old staff suddenly stop doing? And the only real change is the HC because the majority of the staff is the same. This year Morgan is the biggest difference. Last year if they would have played using the typical Ryle offense they would have been better. This year they are more suited to the current coach's style.

True for the most part ... excepting 2011 when Simon Kenton was 2-9.

The reason you are seeing the change in year 2 has everything to do with the talent. Past coaching staffs may not have been what some would wish for but the talent leve simply wasn't there. Remember Ryle had the same coach 2 years ago that they had back in 2010 as an example, when Ryle had the talent and it showed in the Win and Loss columns.

Hearing talk in Union, biggest difference is there is a 3-4 nasty headed running game monster on Ryle's team that people are having a hard time stopping. The Chisholm kid (remember his name) could be their best true rb this year, and I believe he is just a sophomore! Add to that some great receivers and athletes on both sides! For them to go far into the playoffs, it takes a team, not a few good players here and there, a full team, including the guys on the sideline. This is what Ryle has not had in years!!

You mean since Hempel.

I think it's more than that. It's a total culture change. They don't overwork kids and have them beat each other to death in practice everyday. They train smart over the summer and are cognizant of preventing injuries. Numbers are up. That helps add talent.

I think it's the easy schedule. Is Friday nights game against another winless team?
