She would be jailed in Mt. Sterling, right?

Why?

Subject to change based on their comments but I do legitimately feel sorry for her staff.

Why?

I seem to recall at some point that all women were sent to Mt. Sterling. I haven't lived there for a while now so that might be different now.

They list your names, names of your parents, birth dates, ages, prior (if any) marriages, address, etc.

The official fills out the bottom portion when the wedding takes place noting he/she is bonded to perform marriages in that state.

New Marriage License no longer say Bride and Groom, just a place for two names. They said Bride and Groom until the SCOTUS ruling and the next day the new ones were sent down to the clerks by the state.

I'm for gay marriage but just because someone is against it doesn't make them a bigot. I don't agree with that sentiment at all.

If you are party to the discrimination and unequal treatment of someone based on religion, gender, sexual orientation, race, or ethnicity, I'm going to consider you a bigot. Sorry, that's just how I'm going to view it.

So you feel all Catholics who follow the Cathecism to be bigots ?

My parents are against gay marriage. I personally couldn't call them bigots.

Name calling is part of the reason why the conversation becomes so intense.

Are there bigots who hate gay people , obviously. But to classify ever person who objects on religious grounds as bigot. I'm sorry that just isn't right.

You really don't see the difference between your parents or anyone else being against gay marriage and what Davis is doing?

Your parents have the power to prevent gay couples from being married? If not, your comparison holds no water.

I don't know what is in her heart. She could very well be a bigot. I personally believe in what Jesus said about obeying the laws of Ceaser on earth and those of his father in heaven. ( I forget the exact words) .

I just can't call someone a bigot without more info.

Do I think she has handled it poorly , that's obvious.

They are against gay marriage . I don't see how profession changes what is in one's heart.

Pay for my gas and you've got a deal.

You get the wrong end of that deal.

She should resign, just like Jack Conway should have resigned when he refused to appeal the federal court ruling. That was his job as attorney general. If he felt that in good conscience he couldn't do it she should have stepped down.

She's unyielding. While I don't think I'd proceed the same, I admire her steadfastness.

This whole thing is just an embarrassment to the state.

Anyone who judges an entire state based on one person, well their opinion does not matter to me.
