You do not have to believe it but my daughter was one of the few that caused the rule to be put into place. She was an 8th grader and made the varsity team but the Conner Middle

School Principal Linda Viox tried to prevent it from happening. In our meeting with her she said, "it is more important to win a 8th grade middle school championship, than to play varsity as an 8th grader." We went round and round with her and Superintendant Blavatt, but since there was no actual written policy that prevented her from moving up, they finally approved the move. The following year they came out with the current written policy.

Well that's really sad then

Only boy in 25yrs in bo. Co. Schools that has been allowed to move up!!! Doesn't it seem strange he's the varsity coach's son! Vince Rankin should have been able to move up last year, along w/others! Perfect examples: Justin D. Played D1 @ Xavier, David and Steven McFarland, just to name a few more bo. Co. Boys not given the opportunity to move up as 8th graders!!! And all the above mentioned are/were better, yet daddy wasn't the varsity coach!

Exactly... But remember dad is varsity coach and NO boy in bo. Co. In 25 yrs has ever had the opportunity to move up from 8th grade... I could name several in the past 25 yrs not given the opportunity!

Get a clue. Every boy has had the chance to move up but the varsity coach has chosen not to move them up. The rule has only been around for less than 10 years. So, there was no rule preventing Doleman and the McFarlands from playing varsity.

You spend an awful lot of time worrying about one kid and what he gets to do because of his dad and his position. When at the same time you get to send your kid to any school in Boone County because of your all's position. EVERY student is not given the opportunity to attend what ever school they wish but yours is allowed too. Unless someone can prove a "need" to change schools, they have to attend the school they are assigned based on their residence

Spend more time worrying about your kid, better yet spend more time enjoying your kid!

It is always intelligent to call out other kids and dads, then respond to your own quote!! COME ON MAN!! Classy!!

Conner 6th goes down to Woodland 6th. Woodland has a kid with good size that Conner couldn't stop.

Conner 7th downs Woodland 7th. Conner played sloppy, ended up winning by 9 if I remember correctly. 7th grade can go 9-10 deep with very little drop off from the starting 5.

8th grade was winning when I left, but not sure of the outcome.

I hope we get more scores posted this year than last so we can see how teams are doing across the region.
