July 28, 201511 yr I hope that Jay isn't traded. Bruce is a great influence in the clubhouse and the Cincy community. With me anyway, that matters. Bruce has also recovered from a terrible start and is really hitting now and even through the horrendous slump he did not let that interfere with his fine play in RF. Having said the above, I do however believe that he will be traded this week.
August 20, 201511 yr Since August 1st Bruce has a .149/.186/.284 slash line with 1 homer, 5 RBIs 21 strikeouts and 3 walks in 17 games. He had a nice month in July but otherwise he's been very mediocre.

Of course, Frazier's slash of .164/.197/.299 with 2 HRs, 6 RBIs, 22 K's, and 3 BBs in those same games isn't much better.

August 20, 201511 yr That post got me curious @AverageJoesGym In the month of August the Reds have the following slash lines: BP: .324/.370/.426 Suarez: .290/.333/.565 Votto: .268/.431/.536 Frazier: .164/.197/.299 Bruce: .149/.186/.284 Byrd: .180/.215/.311 Pena: .281/.378/.344 Hamilton: .224/.278/.306 So 4 of the starting 8 are under .300 OBP for the month, and 2 are under .200 OBP. That's historically atrocious. :lol2:
August 20, 201511 yr 2016 - Suarez or Cozart or find a place for both? Both. I think they'll try to move Chapman in the offseason and try to convince whatever team they strike a deal with to take BP as well (assuming he'd approve the move).
August 20, 201511 yr ^ I think Suarez to LF is a real possibility. I see no reason to do that with Winker basically waiting in the wings, potentially even out there by next year.
August 20, 201511 yr I seem to be in the minority but I love the potential I see not only with bat of Suarez but also the glove at SS. With next year likely being a tough season I'd try to move both Cozart and Phillips. Leave Suarez at SS where he belongs, bring DeJesus back and let him fill in at 2nd until 2017 which is when I think Blandino will be ready to take over.
August 20, 201511 yr One of they two, cozart or suarez has to play CF next year. Winker/Byrd in left. We can't go another year with Hamilton out there offensively.....this team can't hit enough to carry him. Heck, I'm not even sure that Cozart will hit enough to take a spot. Pitching is going to be bad so the 'defense up the middle' line won't work. You've got to score 4 to have a chance. 5 to win most nights.
August 20, 201511 yr ^Suarez or Cozart would be a disaster in CF. Neither could play the position. You want to pay a 38 year old Byrd $8M again next season??
August 20, 201511 yr Hamilton will be in CF no question about it. His defense is enough to keep him on the field at this point.
