Something That Annoys You When Folks Don't Do It The Same Way As You Do

Featured Replies

Eating your own plate of food, not off of others. My plate is not communal either at home or a restaurant. My wife and daughter, however, believe my plate is communal. If they see something that looks good or they want to try, they just jab their fork in it and take it. Extremely annoying way to dine for me.

Given that we will likely share a meal on Saturday, I'm REALLY glad you told me.

When you are invited to someone's home, whether family or neighbors, and they don't introduce you to the other guests.

Rude and awkward.

My mother's theme song could be "Iron like it's 1959" if that tells you anything. I get stuff right from the dryer, give it a firm snap and fold/hang/put away. Her mother did the pillow cases, sheets, etc. so we are making progress, but I get so annoyed when she comes over and asks - knowing full well I don't even own an ironing board - if she can "put a little crease in that".....UGH!!

You know...something that you do the "right way", and when you see other people do it differently, you can't help but roll your eyes or shake your head.

Whatya got?

For me, it's putting dishes in the dishwasher.

Eating corn on the cob.

Left to right, 3 or 4 rows at a time. No "circles or rings". The end result is a neatly shorn cob.

Any other way smacks of Neanderthalism.

Annoys me when my clothes are left in the washing machine to long. When I begin to sweat at work and my shirt starts to smell like she washed it in dog

Shaking hands. Especially for men. When you get a shake that feels like a dead fish.

I'm a lector at my Catholic parish. I get annoyed when other lectors are obviously not prepared and don't take the readings as seriously as me.

Classic All in the Family scene. I can't help but think about it every AM before work. I used to put socks on like Archie, but as I got older switched to Meatheads way.

I think of this scene often when putting my shoes on.

I have a WAY of doing dishes and my family does it the WRONG way.

I rinse every dish before filling the sink.

I then put each dish on the counter in groups. Plates with plates. Cups with cups.

I then clean each sink.

I then fill one and leave the other empty. Nothing can be in the rinse sink.

I then START with the cups and glasses. Have to be first.

You CANNOT throw any dirty dishes into either sink when I am doing dishes. They go on the counter.

If it's not that way it's wrong.

A few guarantees, BM.

1. You will NOT sit outside to eat. Not happening. He could not enjoy his food.

2. It will be somewhere he has been A LOT. I am seeing Cracker Barrel in your future.

3. He needs a lot of space for all of his plate.

4. Probably knows the server.

5. Will sit in a booth/table he always sits.

When someone (mcmama, 99 percent of the time) is singing along to a song we've both heard eleventy billion times still gets the words wrong and steadfastly refuses to change. Even when I, in a mildly passive-aggressive manner, turn up the volume in a heretofore unsuccessful effort to enlighten her.

The main culprit - " I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For", U2. It is NOT "I Still Haven't Found What I Been Lookin' For".
