Something That Annoys You When Folks Don't Do It The Same Way As You Do

When someone can't take one second to use a turn signal. How hard is it to reach up and flip it?

I think some of these are wandering into Pet Peeve territory and not things that bug you when done a way different than your way.

A few of mine are:

1) Vacuuming. I prefer to vacuum in straight lines. With most carpets you can see where the vacuum was run and it looks totally disorganized to have imprints running every which way.

Which leads me to my next one.

2) Grass cutting. I prefer to cut the yard so it shows defined straight lines. Some people don't care and thus no pattern is made. Irks me to no end.

3) Folding laundry. I fold my clothes a specific way and it drives me nuts when they are not done that way. My old roommate would occasionally fold shirts or shorts that I accidentally left in the dryer and I would have to go back and refold them.

My gosh b-ball, where in the heck are you living! And don't answer!

A nice area actually.

My landlord is the spoiled son of wealthy trash where both his parents are well known for being ridiculously untidy slobs.

He learned that from them and is now teaching it to his kids.

They are the sad punch line to what otherwise could be absolutely wonderful living conditions.

For years I've tried to lead by example, but their filthiness is so ingrained in them that it's not even made a dent.

He also rents to his best friend who also is as equally a professional slob.

They are all actually well educated people, but you wouldn't know it.

They are the worst culprits of keeping the garbage area so bad, even worse than some of the crazy stuff that I've seen tenants do.

That's really a shame when some basic common sense could make their property so much more appealing and ultimately more valuable.

No doubt.

Many surrounding neighbors have won beautification awards, so this property too has equally the same potential for that, but while they own it, it will never happen.

I've chatted with neighbors who've I assured that if I had it my way things would be much better, but I can spend one day tidying up the property just to have my landlord and his family come right behind me to trash it up again once more. It's as if they're not happy unless it's a mess. He grew up that way, so there might be something to that. It's all that he knows, even though he grew up in the neighborhood where everyone that doesn't share his last name takes good care of their property.

Fly ! Please don't invade my space with your elbows ! Even if I concede the armrest to you, do not cross over 'the line'. I have tried everything to avoid it (except flying first class).

^^^

Previous to them owning the property, I rented for years from the likes of Andy Griffith and Aunt Bee who kept the place immaculate 'til the husband passed and the wife had to sell. The difference was like night and day.

So why are you still living there?

If you haven't already seen it, you have to watch Jim Jefferies routine on flying etiquette and arm rests. It is classic. On Netflix.

So why are you still living there?

I really like the neighborhood, and I really do like my apartment. I've been here a total of 23 years, and the pluses outweigh the minuses in a multitude of ways.

I've tried to learn to be blind to the things that I don't appreciate, and I have good and bad days with that. I am forever shaking my head to sloppy methods around the property, and if it wasn't so nasty, it would be a laugh.

To deal with it I just vent to my friends and have a chuckle about it. As much as it would be nice if they'd shape up, my quality of life still is fine for me once I shut and lock my apartment door.

I haven't seen that, but I'll check it out. Maybe I'll learn how to deal with the offenders.

Middle seat gets both armrests, that is the basic principle but the routine is funny funny funny.

Wipe your nose on your sleeve or something similarly disgusting and I promise they will never cross the line once. :thumb:

Shaking hands. Especially for men. When you get a shake that feels like a dead fish.

Note to all - women deserve a good handshake, too. As someone that sits behind the scorers table during basketball season, I shake the hands of a lot of officials. The "dead fish" is awful. Usually comes with bad officiating. :lol2:

D. When people don't put their cart in the cart coral at the grocery.

This is my current #1 pet peeve...and I want someone that does it to give me a valid reason besides plain laziness and selfishness.
