Something That Annoys You When Folks Don't Do It The Same Way As You Do

Featured Replies

Making their beds. I make mine the first thing getting out of it. My kids do not do this at all now. They did growing up. Also, when I stay at someone's place, I make the bed, even if I know they will change the sheets when I leave or hopefully they do. My daughter stays here 1-2 nights a week and never makes the bed in the guest room.

Funny you bring this up.

As a kid my mother could never get me to make my bed. I would say, "Who's gonna see it?", and "Why does it matter". She'd say that it mattered to her if there was disorder in the house, and whether she saw it or not she didn't like to think that my room was a mess.

I've lived on my own for nearly 30 years now and have made my bed everyday without fail. Her prompting did in fact rub off, and it's amazing what kind of pride you can instantly take about your home when it's yours. I immediately got what she was getting at, but it took me moving out and having my own place to understand.

Grill a steak.

It amazes me how many people can't properly grill a steak.

I'm not talking about how done it's cooked, but the method of grilling.

But of course rare is the only way to eat a steak.

It can be between rare and medium rare, but I hear you. I get a kick out of restaurants that have something like this posted:

"If you ask for well-done, we cannot be held responsible for the quality of the meat."

Kind of telling right there.

That disclaimer as well as this one:

"Consuming raw or undercooked meats, poultry, seafood, shellfish or eggs may increase your risk of food borne illness"

Personally I like meat cooked well enough to ensure the likelihood that all germs have been killed off. Anything less than medium scares me, and I typically ask for medium well.

A friend of mine always asks for his burgers to be cooked as raw as legally allowable. If I'm sharing a meal with him, I make a point not to pay too close attention to him as he's carnivorously gobbling down his blood dripping super reddish meat. In his defense, it's never killed him, but it sorta grosses me out to witness it.

I HATE when I'm a passenger on a road trip with an aggressive driver. You know the one, sets the cruise control and gets upset whenever it has to be disengaged. Gets in the left lane and drives up the tailpipe of the person who's also passing the slower car in the right lane but at a slower speed then our driver has the cruise set at. Only after I've almost stomped a hole through the floorboard trying to slow us down do they finally disengage the cruise and slow. By that time we're close enough to blow the dust off the back bumper of the car in front of us and we stay right there until they give up the left lane.

My method has always been 5-7 minutes on each side, flipping only once. Usually gives a nice medium rare - medium finish.

I can do a slight medium rare, prefer medium. I used to be a medium well person, then I realized how much flavor and tenderness I was missing out on. :lol2:

You would have LOVED our traditional family steak-fest.

After grilling several sirloins (medium-rare), put them in a recessed plate. After the steaks are gone, sop up the remaining blood/grease/juice (my great-grandmother called this "the essence") with bread and enjoy.

Oh Yummmm!

I'm an over person but to be honest, I'm happy when anyone else at the Compound actually takes the time to replace the empty roll whether it's over or under!

Men realize that women use and waste more TP than them. So it makes sense to leave empty rolls (or one sheet) for them as a lesson.:)

A. Driving

2.When someone is walking there dog in the same direction as me walking my dog. I always re-route. Almost nobody else does.

D. When people don't put their cart in the cart coral at the grocery.

Fact.

I used to like it medium to medium well too. I have since realized the error in my ways, and would enjoy a steak that's practically still mooing(as long as there is a seared layer. I'm not a barbarian).

Adaptive Cruise Control completely solves this issue.

When lazy untidy slobs don't take the extra few seconds that it might take to see to it that their garbage is positioned in the bin properly enough in order to be able to shut the lid all the way, avoiding attracting flies, and eventually maggots, and emitting foul odors.

When people toss whole eggs in garbage bins allowing them to crack and become a nasty stinky mess.

Garbage areas on people's properties could easily be tidy clean organized areas, yet so many filthy pigs treat it as the city dump.

Also when people hog entire garbage bins with a giant cardboard box full of air, when it really could have been collapsed and placed in the recycling bin.

When landlords bring empty bins back to garbage area from the curb full of rainwater allowing for a stinky mess to start immediately from an empty bin, and now people just toss their garbage right in the water creating more funky odors than just normal nasty garbage already does.

Sloppy uncaring landlords and filthy untidy tenants make for unnecessary filthy stinky garbage areas on residential properties.

My gosh b-ball, where in the heck are you living! And don't answer!

Eating your own plate of food, not off of others. My plate is not communal either at home or a restaurant. My wife and daughter, however, believe my plate is communal. If they see something that looks good or they want to try, they just jab their fork in it and take it. Extremely annoying way to dine for me.

I am not necessarily proud of this one but I once beat the daylights out of my best friend for taking an onion ring off my plate.. This was a full blown fist fight where I had to be pulled off of him.

And we were fine an hour later, best friends and all.

Yes. :thumb:

When people mow and throw their grass on the road. It is usually the person who has grass knee deep to a tall Indian who is the culprit. First of all I never let my grass get to high then I mulch it or bag it but I never throw it on the road for someone to drive through and get it all over their car.:banghead::banghead::banghead:
