July 2, 201511 yr I'm (almost) as liberal as they get. And I think it's ridiculous, too. As far as I can remember, Bo, Luke and Daisy weren't going around stringing up coloreds. To be fair neither are 99.999% of people with that flag on their car or truck today, but we've decided they are racist and bigots...so it doesn't matter.
July 2, 201511 yr When watching these old shows people must realize when they were originally made. Shows like Different Strokes and Sanford and Son are bad as well but I guess since they don't fly the Confederate flag they are ok, what about Archie Bunker? I think the Jeffersons was one of the worst ones. Loved that show. :lol2: I don't remember Different Strokes being that bad at all. Each episode had a moral and happy ending. Even when Willis smoked weed it was fairly tame.
July 2, 201511 yr And while I disagree about The Dukes of Hazzard being removed from TV Land's lineup I do think we all need to take a step back and remember that.......it's still just TV Land. This won't make or break them and how many of us can honestly say we even knew The Dukes of Hazzard was being shown on television? TV Land is being stupid but it's TV Land.

I know there isn't anything racist about the show. What I am saying is I doubt Dukes of Hazzard reruns on TV Land are what keeps that channel alive. I'm also saying that a majority of folks in an uproar probably didn't even know Dukes of Hazzard was even on TV let alone the channel. CMT may start showing Dukes of Hazzard again if they already aren't. CMT used to show it also.

July 2, 201511 yr I never knew they were on the channel, as was mentioned, I don't think it will tank TV Land. If the show was performing well they may not have done this. I am sure sooner or later someone will go into each episode and take out the confederate flag on top of the General Lee, then you will see it back on TV.
