Cosby gets accused of sexually assaulting women. None of the allegations have as of yet been proven. TV Land pulls The Cosby Show almost immediately. In addition Cosby has many tour dates and a TV show that was in development cancelled. He get's lampooned on SNL and every late nigh talk show. Netflix puts the kabash on a comedy special they were going to air. Bill's now a pariah. No real outrage on BGP when his series got cancelled by TV Land either.

 

The Dukes of Hazzard gets cancelled by TV Land (the SAME network that cancelled The Cosby Show) because of fears of association with the Confederate flag.

 

Tell me again how Bill got off easy, or TV Land treated him any differently?? And Bill didn't get hammered and taken to task??

 

And yes the Cosby show can now be found, albeit on two smaller, less widely viewed channels. And you can bet someone will step in and pick up the Duke Boys in due time.

 

But comparing apples to apples, TV Land treated both shows exactly the same. Am I missing something??

 

And I DO NOT agree with pulling The Dukes. I've never said that. In context of the show, the flag really means nothing to me. So drop the "cry me a river, libs" stuff too. I'm on your side here. Using a meme that is not exactly correct in this analogy doesn't help our argument that The Dukes shouldn't have been yanked. TV Land gave no preference to the Cosby show.

In all honesty, before this thread, I didn't even realize TV Land was still around. Think it's unwise to remove shows, but it does appear that they've consistently taken this stance in the past, and I honestly don't think it's that big of a deal.
