Don't see how anyone can argue Neltner was the best of the 3 given the above numbers.

 

Solely on theHS level, Brock, Doellman, Neltner. They were all great in their own way. I remember being jacked after we finally best Highlands in the semis. Then the best team, St. Henry took the crown. The were talented enough to win it all.

I believe for just one year after he graduated college.

 

He coached at Dayton for two years, and lived in Covington in the mainstrasse area.

Are you kidding me with this nonsense? First of all, Pittman was not near the level of Doellman. So tired of all this pro-Holmes nonsense. Pittman is not even in the top 5 players ever at Holmes so lets end that discussion right here.

I honestly believe if Pittman would've stayed out of trouble at Marshall he would've been a drafted in the NBA with a good chance as a 1st Round pick. He was dominating at Marshall when he was playing, I think he led the Nation in scoring for a while in his last season before leaving the team. In his final season he had games of 31, 29, 31, 21 and 35. He averaged 16 something the season before and drained 3 pointers at a high level for a big guy. There aren't many bigs with the athleticism and range of EP, he's a special player.

 

Neltner was a great shooter as well for his size and there's no debating he was a good player. He played in the SEC which is awesome, but he could never dream of being on an NBA roster. EP if it wasn't for his off the court troubles and attitude had a legit shot of being in the NBA, that alone is what separates the two IMO and Pittman was the better player hands down.

I agree with these two coaches. Also would think Tom Ellis at Holmes, coach Ellis coached all three sports at Holmes. My first year at Holmes was Coach Ellis's last year, but I sure remember him as a coaching legend in the halls at Holmes. Also think Dan Tieman at CCH was a great coach and such a class guy.

We are talking high school, apples and oranges. Brock may have been the better high school player, what the college coaches saw is not valid to the argument of who had a better HS career.
