Malik Dow attended UofLs camp this past Saturday. He wore his cousins #9 jersey during the camp. He looked the part. Mercer county fans should enjoy the tall target. By no means is he Devante... But he ain't bad!

What did you see from them last year that makes you this think they can win more than 6 games, other than the fact that 4 a is depleted. I am saying six with skepticism, because George Rogers may get them, and I am assuming west and east don't improve.

Mercer County beat Taylor County 21-0 last season. Not sure why you would chalk that one up as a loss. Is Taylor expected to be that much better than they were a season ago?

As of today they have 3 of 5 offensive lineman back, their QB is healthy, their defense is pretty much back and 100% healthy and they have added Malik Dow and Alijah Mink to the team which gives them 3 receivers at over 6'3" tall that are also athletic in those two along with Treyvon Faulkner. Oh, and they also bring back Chase Moore at WR who also was hurt all of last season.

 

So, yeah, as long as they are healthy they should win around 8 games IMO. If not more. Coach B is going to have them ready to go.

Yes. Taylor will be much improved. Why? Dudley. No knock against Mercer.

Ill take Mercer over Taylor.

Coach Buchanan was a great hire for Mercer. Believe me the Mercer /Taylor game will be a war. Dudley doesn't do anything fancy,just wins.

Wayne should be better than Taylor, and in the cross district. IMO they may cause Mercer more trouble than Taylor

Remember Dude took a Bourbon Co. TEAM that was 2-9, and one the state the first year. He took over 5 games in last year and almost beat Lexington Catholic, and should have had they not fumbled the ball. I been told Taylor Co. has lots of athletes in the hall ways. So I will say it now, Mercer, Marion, etc. will not want to play smash mouth football. Taylor County will win the district.

I wouldn't sleep on Taylor county. Dudley does not lose, the off season getting their minds right. The fact that he is back serves notice, he thinks he can win. TC will be a player in the district title race.

3-7, but you make a valid point.

 

I think Dudley had one of the best turnarounds ever that year. However the stars also aligned for them with the weather and the upsets along the way. He will make it interesting there. Still, Mercer with Buchanan is no slouch. Looking forward to observing the season this Fall. :thumb:

If Mercer gets the Miller brothers that transferred in from Lincoln on the field next year, they could be crazy good with athletes all over the field. Gerald started for Lincoln as a Freshmen.

Daddy was a heck of a QB, to go along with being either the 3A 100M or 200M State Champ in 97. From everything I've seen, he is a chip off the old block and MAYBE the potential to be better.

As far as I know they are both there. Both are playing summer basketball for Mercer County.
