The left photo is Alvis Johnson field (old Harrodsburg HS) on June 29. To the right is August 3rd. We are hoping that a plan develops to get our bleachers worked out and we can play there before the season ends.

 

I thought I heard that Mercer had received a grant for an artificial turf field... Either way, I am glad football will be moving back to AJ Stadium - it was always a great venue.

I would like to see Boyle and Mercer renew their rivalry. Always a fun game and just 10 miles apart. Middle school, freshmen and JV,s will still play I guess?

I'd say that, because of his friendship with Chuck Smith, Coach Buchanan may not want to play against Boyle.

We have 34 kids, 10-12 and another 24 freshmen. I like their effort and attitude. We are getting alot done and making progress, and we also know we will play some very good teams. I also like our staff alot. Malik is there and working hard. I am crazy about him and have no reason to doubt his commitment.

 

Malik played a great game Friday night. He gave a tremendous effort. Up until the very end, he was a team first guy and played very hard. :thumb:

I never had a doubt Malik would be special on the gridiron. Great athleticism but also great character kid. Played for us on the freshman team before transferring--was SO glad to hear he went back to football this year...especially knowing the great coaching he'd be getting. Hope he sticks with football as I see a kid with great potential at the next level.

Yes, he did. His last game was probably his best one.
