  1. I've been by several practices this year and I can tell this team is not only miles ahead of the team last fall, but they also seem to be having a lot more fun. I also don't think any kid 'checking out' will be a problem. The senior class isn't big but all six of them are really strong players. I don't see any worries of any of the kids 'checking out' regardless of the record in October.
  2. Mercer County beat Taylor County 21-0 last season. Not sure why you would chalk that one up as a loss. Is Taylor expected to be that much better than they were a season ago?
  3. Harrodsburg Herald, BREAKING NEWS:Buchanan To Be Named New Head Football Coach at Mercer County
  4. I have heard that from multiple sources too.
  5. I also believe Mercer beat East when East still had Jones playing for them.
  6. I think the new AD, Sean Pigman, will take his time with the hire to make sure he has a perfect fit. This will be his first major hire, because Josh Cook was brought in under the AD last year. I think Pigman is going to make a great football hire to help get program back on track. Not saying they will be back to 2006 form anytime, but they hopefully become more consistent.
  7. Davis played a little bit in the end of Mercer's game vs Lexington Catholic and started the final four games in which The Titans went 1-3. I would think Davis would still be favorite for quarterback. He was the only 'true' quarterback on the team last year.
