SHS Future
46th District Tournament at West Jessamine West Jessamine Colts (18-9) (5-1) – West Jessamine is the two time defending 46th District Tournament champions and are sitting as the #1 seed in this years’ tournament. They will face the #4 seed Burgin Bulldogs on Tuesday night. Look for this to be a win for the Colts by a comfortable margin as they should advance to the championship game Friday night. West Jessamine has won six of the last eight 46th District tournaments since 2007. Mercer County Titans (19-8) (4-2) - #2 seed Mercer County will face #3 seed East Jessamine in the first round district elimination game Tuesday night. The Titans split the regular season games with East Jessamine winning the first game at home 66-59 on December 16, 2014, and losing the second game at East 81-86 on January 30, 2015. This could be the best first round district tournament game in the 12th Region. East Jessamine Jaguars (9-17) (3-3) - #3 seed East Jessamine has already proven they are capable of pulling off big upsets. They will once again be in a situation Tuesday night where they will be the underdogs against #2 seed Mercer County. Although the Jaguars have split regular season games with Mercer County, it would still be considered an upset. Look for this to be a good first round game with East hoping to punch their ticket to the 12th Region tournament if they can get by the Titans. Burgin Bulldogs (3-21) (0-6) - #4 seed Burgin did not win a regular season district game this year and have a very tall task ahead of them if they wish to get their first against #1 seed West Jessamine Tuesday night. As a matter of fact, it has been since 1986 since Burgin won a post season game. 46th District Tournament games: (All games at West Jessamine) Tuesday, February 24th #1 West Jessamine vs #4 Burgin at 6:00 #2 Mercer County vs #3 East Jessamine at 7:45 Friday, February 27th 46th District Championship game at 7:00 Potential 46th District Championship game match-up: #1 seed West Jessamine versus #2 seed Mercer County is a very likely and very good potential championship game. Mercer County handed West Jessamine their only district loss by 18 points, 67-49, on December 19th at West. The Colts avenged that loss but only squeaked by with a 2 point win at Mercer County 67-65 on January 23rd. Look for the rubber match to be a dandy if Mercer County can get by East Jessamine in the Titans first round game. JunkD
East beat Mercer when they were without Dow down low. Don't think the Jags can beat the Titans when both are at full strength.
TitanBulldog
I also believe Mercer beat East when East still had Jones playing for them.
