March 9, 201511 yr You're the GM of an NBA team. You are on the clock and have both Towns and Okafor as options to select? I realize objectivity is going to be a challenge in this thread but...it's fair discussion. Who ya got?
March 9, 201511 yr I go with Towns. I think Okafor is the more skilled and polished offensive player at this moment, but potential-wise, Towns is heads and shoulders above him IMO. He's got a much more versatile offensive game that will allow him to play the 4 or 5, whereas Okafor is stuck at the 5. In addition, defense and pure athleticism are both areas that Towns is currently ahead of Okafor. Both will be very good pros, however I see Towns as being better in the long run. March 9, 201511 yr I can't lay my bias aside so I'm going with KAT. I've only caught Okafor a limited number of times and I've seen Towns do some amazing things.
March 9, 201511 yr Luckiest team will be whoever has the #2 pick...they will never be second guessed. Just take which ever one is left and enjoy.
March 9, 201511 yr It's really close, I want to see how they close out the tournament. I'm leaning Towns at this point due to the defense.
March 9, 201511 yr What recent NBA players do each closely resemble? Is KAT really in the Tim Duncan mold as to what he may be? Heard that comparison on the radio last week. Is Okafor the next Dwight Howard?

March 9, 201511 yr What recent NBA players do each closely resemble? Is KAT really in the Tim Duncan mold as to what he may be? Heard that comparison on the radio last week. Is Okafor the next Dwight Howard? Okafor right now is better than Howard has ever been offensively, IMO.
March 9, 201511 yr It's close. I feel that both are sure to be really good players. Okafor can come in and score right now. Not many post guys can do that. In a lot of ways he reminds me of Duncan in that regard but he'll likely never defend like TD. Towns has the higher ceiling though if you ask me. More range, better defense, more athletic, better frame. It would depend on the makeup of the roster. If I'm a team like Minnesota or NYC I take Towns and don't look back. If I'm the Lakers maybe I take Okafor. To me, both are safe. I think all things considered Okafor is the better offensive player, and Towns is better defensively. I think Towns is safer, because he's still a really good offensive player. He's safer and has a higher ceiling IMO. Russell is a stud too. This class is better than last years at the top.
