March 9, 201511 yr I would take Towns. I have all the respect in the world for Okafor's game, but when you look at a player like Deandre Jordan -- who is a guy that IF he could shoot 75 percent from the free throw line -- would be considered one of the top big men in the game. Maybe top 3-4. But since he's such a liability at the charity stripe, it's so hard to put him up there with the big boys. I don't think Okafor's free throw game is as bad as Jordan's but it's not far off. Also, I give the defensive edge to Towns. Karl Towns is a solid shot blocker. Towns is the better jump shooter -- will be able to stretch the floor further. Okafor is clearly more polished on the block and his footwork is second to none in the college game. But all things considered, Towns may end up having a more impactful career in the league.
March 9, 201511 yr Towns projects to be more like a Lamarcus Aldridge than a Tim Duncan. Good athleticism, can stretch the floor a little, going to be better defensively. Okafor reminds me a lot of Al Jefferson for some reason. Just has such fluid post moves and feet work.

Uses more of his athleticism to score than Duncan did. KAT has good footwork but not the great footwork that Duncan did. KAT will eventually have a outside game that Duncan never had. Both are great passers though. Defensively, I can agree on the comparison. Great shot blockers, can anchor a defense. KAT does have to be less aggressive when playing D, as he does get a lot of fouls. Overall, I can see where they make the comparison but personally, I don't see it. If anything, Okafor is more of a Duncan comparison on the offensive end.

March 10, 201511 yr What recent NBA players do each closely resemble? Is KAT really in the Tim Duncan mold as to what he may be? Heard that comparison on the radio last week. Is Okafor the next Dwight Howard? I feel like Okafor's best comparison is Cousins.

March 11, 201511 yr It's hard for me to take my bias away, but I tried and I still think Towns has the higher ceiling for the NBA game. Especially as he continues to develop his shooting. Seems like Okafor has a long way to go there. Towns still has some growing up to do, which makes me wonder how good he can be when he does.

March 11, 201511 yr Emmanuel Mudiay ??? Unless the team that gets first pick has 4 good big men I just don't see it. Lots of potential but he doesn't look like a #1 overall from what I've see of him playing against the Chinese league competition.
