I forgot I played on several state champions softball champions and one National Champion!

If I remember correctly we are about the same age. I graduated in 81.

I would have guessed you were younger than me. Reading '85 here

Rook.

Funny Papa. I don't feel (or look) like a rook:)

Black don't crack

I was the starting center on the Bellevue Tigers 1996 8th grade championship team. Beat our rivals the Dayton Green Devils in Beechwood's Gym.

Coached the 37th District Girls Champs a several years ago.

Lost in the sectional championship to Madeira my senior year in 2000 (moved to Batavia in 10th grade). Had 8 blocks and 10 points that night. Mis-timed a tip in dunk with a minute left that would have put us up by 1. Selfish play on my part, I had position for a regular offensive board and an easy stick back. I still have nightmares about it.

Played on a team that won the 8th region basketball championship. An unforgettable season that has many memories. Unfortunately, we lost in the 1st round of the state tournament, to the team that actually won the state crown.

I had quickly glanced over the title and thought it was only state championships. Since everyone else is bragging, I'll take a turn:

8th Grade Football Championship

Freshman Basketball Regional Championship

(Sophomore year) JV Basketball Regional Championship

.............

And the one I mentioned before!

Bragging time for me is over! :walk:

I was an equipment manager (meaning that I carried my wife's equipment) on my wife's Women's State Champion Church League Softball team 25 years ago...does that count? I didn't make the team photo so I'm guessing that it doesn't :bag:

Played on the 1992 NSA Men's Major Indoor World Series Championship softball team.....to quote Chris Sabo (with my own embellishment), "we got the rings, we got the money, we got the women, we got it all".

Also, a member of the 1982 JV Regional (baseball) Championship team, now that was alot of fun. That game alone (vs. Dixie) could be its own thread, it was that exciting......8-7 8 inning NewCath victory.

His friends call him "Spuds". :D

Regional champ in both baseball and basketball . Also part of a state champ with my daughters travel softball team . And a team produced 6 D-1 players . Most ( all maybe ?) of them started as freshman.

I was wondering why you didn't mention this. You were a stud softball player back in the day!

Wow, this is very similar to my own resume of championships.....as a player HS Regional Championships in Basketball & baseball and as a coach multiple state championships with a travel AAU basketball team. What they all had in common was the feeling of accomplishing something together where the identity of the accomplishment was not an individual feeling, but a shared one. Some call it a "team" ego, but you literally check in your self ego & pride and only see yourself as a part of something bigger than yourself. To share the joy with others who traveled the same journey is much different and I believe more satisfying than someone who celebrates their individual accomplishments.

I played on a undefeated State Championship Team in WV in 1976. Class "A" State Champs and it felt great. Especially after our Football Team went undefeated and didn't get the opportunity to play for a State Championship.
