Fun team to watch. Didn't lose to a KY team all season.

I won a KHSAA Sweet 16 Basketball State Championship, but if I give away the year it will probably give away my identity! (If you want to know the year I can PM you)

 

It is really amazing... Just thinking that you have something that so few can say they've done. All the hard work, grueling practices and film sessions and weight lifting... Makes it all worth it as soon as the buzzer sounds. It's one of the few times that I could not control my emotions and cried out of happiness.

I had a good friend - now deceased - who played center for Georgetown's 1961 runnerup squad. Told me that by far - Willis Reed (Grambling, national champs that year) was the best he ever laced 'em up against.

Was a member of 2 State Championship Slow Pitch Softball teams....and those were special.

 

Was on staff in 2010 when Lawrence County won the 15th in softball. It far outweighs the two I mentioned above. The joy on those young ladies' faces when we accomplished our goal is something I'll never forget.

 

You just can't buy this anywhere. Such a feeling. 9th Region Champs.

 

I have stood nearby as many teams accomplish the championships. You are right about the uncontrollable emotions that flow from the players. It is a prize to cherish for sure.

I was statistician on the 2011 Holy Cross Class 2A Football State Championship team.

 

Both of my kids have been blessed to win Championships. We were talking about this question yesterday and both said it is a feeling you can not describe. I can say as a parent, I have never seen them happier than when they were holding those trophies! Pure joy!

I won the Monday night over 50 softball championship at Expressway Park.

Never was an athlete, but twice state champions as a Statistician for Reading High School 2002-03 Ohio Division III state championship and for Holy Cross' 2011-12 All "A" state championship. Outside of getting married and being a father, two of the greatest thrills of my life.

I was part of the 2008 NKU women's basketball NCAA Division II national championship team. Watching the final seconds tick off the clock was a moment that caused me to almost come to tears. Can not describe the feeling of that moment, have to experience to understand.

Won a 9th Region baseball tournament. Awesome feeling. Then we lost the first game of the sectionals in a very close game...still remember it like it happened last week and it happened over 30 years ago...

It sure helped because in our first meeting with you guys that season we lost by 11, and when we faced you in the championship game there weren't nearly as many tall guys on your team. I've no doubt if we had faced the same team again that we had originally, the results would've been the same. I still recall looking down court during warmups in that first game thinking "Oh man...they're huge", but felt a big sense of relief the second time around with someone obviously missing.

Who did you lose to?

 

Madison Central. They made it to the state semis or finals. They were primarily juniors and loaded. The following year I am pretty sure they went undefeated - hard to do in baseball.

If I remember correctly we are about the same age. I graduated in 81.
