Yup. Dixie made a statement tonight and Avery makes a difference for Holmes.

Boone with the win over Holmes earlier this week.

5 teams capable of winning region, IMO

Is Cooper now out of the mix ?

I liked the fight and toughness Holmes showed in the paint tonight. I thought that Arnold did a heck of a job on McDonald and he worked his butt off doing it. I thought we saw some flashes out of Jaiden Greene who had a nice little turnaround bank shot.

Without Avery, Holmes was a bit limited in scoring options and struggled to get clean looks from the perimeter. Other times they would drive into the meat of the defense and force up contested shots.

If Bolden was sick he really didn't show too many effects. The kid should be POY in the region. He gets double-teamed night after night and still produces.

Weyer for NCC is a heck of a player. He may be the best player NCC has. Pangallo is really solid and probably look to score more than he does. You can see that he has really developed his body over the last few years.

Going forward, NCC better cut down on their turnovers.

NCC has the best combination of talent heading into the region, but can they string some games together and win it?

Pretty impressed with Holmes fight, especially without Avery. They play a lot of guys and I like that Greene got in there tonight. Officiating seemed to get a little one sided in the second half. Typically you'll get some fouls when you drive into a big man down low (McDonald) and initiate contact but not tonight. Also I must say the decision not too foul the last 40 seconds or so of the game really baffles me. Not sure I've ever seen that when your still within striking distance. Especially when you have a team that can create turnovers and a player that can go off in seconds like Beetle.

Sounds like an NBA regular season gamE. No fouling to stop clock let's just let it run out cuz we have an 82 game season. Lol

I wouldn't count Cooper out of that mix.

So Avery was out of the line up because......?

At one point I was so frustrated with about 30 seconds left I started yelling to foul. If you're only down 7 or 8 with close to 40 seconds left you have to foul. Listerman should've been yelling to foul. Heck Cov Cath fouled for the last couple minutes it seemed like, trying to stretch the game out and come back.

I over heard a Holmes student talking about a senior prank. From what I heard the student saying it was a pretty harmless prank. Won't go into details and it might not even be why Avery sat. I do know that they got zero production out of Greene and Moore on the offensive end and Avery would've been a huge difference maker. I do like what Greene and Moore gave Holmes on D, Arnold as well. Hopefully going forward coach L will continue playing Greene. I'd like to see him and Avery in at the same time. It would be their tallest and most athletic lineup and I think could cause matchup problems for most teams.

Congrats to Drew McDonald for setting the career rebounding record at NCC.

I love to here records like this and not just scoring. Congrats to Drew!!!!!!!!

Cooper os definitely a contender. Didnt mean to leave them out.

Now has, I believe, 954 for his career.

That's awesome. I'd love to see how many players end their careers in the 1000/1000 club. Another thread?...

9th region tourney shaping up to be epic

Didn't realize the 9th region was gonna be this tough.

So Avery was out of the line up because......?

Sick. Bolden had it too but played through it.

Not necessarily true. It doesn't matter who initiates it. If the offensive player initiates and, say, the defensive player's hands are not straight up it's a foul.

In the instances he was referring to the post player had his hands straight up. It was all body contact.

My point is the offensive player initiating contact is not a factor.
