Lincoln had their own student section at the game.

I always loved being on the team nobody liked. I've found my home at Boyle,because Mercer,Lincoln,Garrard,and Danville were cheering against the Rebels tonight.. I love it,bring it on!!

I did see a lot of Danville players their when I left. Didn't see any of Garrard players. But it is hard to see when you are doing the stats.

Hate is motivation .

Jaylen Hendren and Jared Southerland were on the Boyle side. I know I saw Southerland because he was next to me and I was pretty sure Hendren was down in front of me by our student section

Some of their players were there too. I saw Jacob Conway and Brandon Pittman. Could have been more but I saw both of them walk right in front of me.

 

Also...just a bit of self promotion. I started tweeting updates from games I go to about a month ago. KYBleacherButt on twitter if anyone is interested.

First, the 12th region officiating is terrible. Period. And one of them is just plain terrible, I'm sure everybody knows who I'm talking about. I hope Malik is ok and it's nothing serious. Never want to see a kid get hurt. I love the fact that everybody seems to hate Boyle Co. Idk why it is, I guess bc we have pretty much dominated the area in sports for years. Makes it that much sweeter when we beat you. Mercer Co has a talented team. I've always been a big fan of Will Hager. Kid can just play ball. You know what he's going to do, penetrate and get in the paint, but you still can't stop him. Uses his body really well. Needs to develop a better outside shot but he's just a baller. Faulkner is going to be a good one. Going to be interesting watching his development the neXT 4 years.

As others have stated I hope Dow is doing okay. It was scary to watch it and without knowing details I won't speculate on what happened. I just hope he is okay and that it wasn't as bad as it seemed.

 

I also hope Colton is feeling better also. Looked like he tweaked his injury after a foul.

I was a little surprised to see that Lincoln County had a solid student section at the game tonight...and their team wasn't even playing. At the end, they chanted "see you Friday! See you Friday" at Boyle County.

 

I'm telling you right now, Friday night is going to be as good as it gets in these parts. I've heard some "secrets" of things that are planned for Friday and I'll say this, if you enjoy high school basketball and great atmospheres...get to Danville that evening.

As for this game, Mercer has a nice team. I'm not sure they can put together 3 wins in a regional tournament, but it all depends on the matchups and some luck. They are certainly one of the top 5-6 teams in the region and have a good chance to make some noise.

 

Tonight was a gusty win for Boyle County. With Elkins playing at about 70% for maybe 1/3rd of the game, they overcome adversity and got the job done. Big time shots by Josiah Robbins, especially in the first half. Tyler and Bell both had great games.

 

The students did a great job tonight. I could have done without one of their chants, but other than that, it was all in good fun and the kids all seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Do you guys realize that the only team in this area to play in a state title game in the last 4 years is.................Mercer County in the sport of baseball (2ce). Lets keep it real. We are very good, but we havent arrived.
