And I just noticed that a student was holding what appeared to be an actual piece of the broken Boyle County bell at the game tonight. It had #BellDown painted on it.

Wasn't a Boyle fan ejected in Lexington?

 

I believe one was asked to leave tonight but I couldn't tell exactly what happened.

As a neutral observer, it is easy to see why nobody likes Boyle county. They flop worse than Duke / Chris Jones. Flopped 3 times on Dow. Don't know what ref's we're thinking but they took Dow out of the game. Another on Faulkner. Just hard to respect a team that plays like that. Usually teams w good players don't resort to those tactics. That wasn't a hard foul on Elkins.

I'm told that Malik Dow is still at the hospital awaiting results of a CT scan. Please say a prayer for that young man right now. Thanks.

I'm going to assume you're talking about against Lexington Catholic in their tournament. I was a few rows behind him. I don't think he got ejected. I'm pretty sure they were going to and he talked his way into being allowed to stay.

 

It was an odd situation. I wasn't close enough to hear exactly what was said but I know the Boyle fan was right behind the wives/kids of the Lexington Catholic coaches. He wasn't up screaming or anything (but of course I'm not sure what the fan could have said that the wives/kids heard) and all of a sudden one of the assistant coaches for Catholic flips out and starts screaming at the Boyle fan. "You're out of here!!!" Gets in the fan's face and everything. The fan then got angry after the coach flipped out on him. In the end the fan just moved away from the bench and families. The coach's kid starts bawling, I'm going to assume from seeing his dad flip out. I'd know the Catholic coach if I saw him but don't know him by name.

I'll be interested to see it. Live I didn't think it should have been intentional foul, it was most certainly a hard foul though. Just a kid making sure someone didn't an easy two points.

Ill explain what happen with the ejection.

 

One of leading members of our football team took our rebel flag during a.timeout and ran down our sideline and then the mercer sideline. Mercer had been running their flag around before that but our guy got ejected for it.

I'm reviewing the video of Dow's injury right now. It's easy to see on the replay that he could have easily suffered a concussion. He caught an elbow directly in the face, possibly the temple.

The first foul on Malik was definitely a flop but I don't blame that on the Boyle player. Lonnie was right there and thought there was going to be contact and blew the whistle prematurely. I have it on video and am trying to upload it but am having problems. I'm not the best when it comes to IT.

A student from Boyle ran across the gym with the Boyle flag in front of the Mercer County, Lincoln County, Garrard County and Danville student section. Someone from the student section threw a water bottle at him and then bottle ended up on the court. A Mercer County administrator then ran across the gym and had the kid carrying the flag kicked out the game. Then the same administrator ran back over to the consolidated student section and began waving his arms at the student section to get rowdy.

 

Lesson learned:

 

Boyle County students need to keep their flag on their side of the court or get ejected and all students representing the home team can throw objects at students from the opposing team without repercussion.

I know a Boyle student got ejected.

 

He grabbed a flag they had in the Boyle County student section and ran around the whole court to go wave it in front of the Mercer County student section. He got booed a lot and multiple things thrown at him from the Mercer students. When he got back to the Boyle student section he got a fist bump from an older Boyle Co fan and then was prompted escorted out of the gym. I was quite amused by it all.
