January 25, 201511 yr Author Today's update: OK...port in place for dialysis. when he starts will be about 2 hours. He is bleeding a lot...hardly has any platelets. Already had one transfusion, did not do any good. Nurse just said platelets still dropping. White blood count a little better.

January 26, 201511 yr Author I just spoke to Mrs. PH. Mr. PH is in a lot of pain, but they aren't giving him pain medicine because they need him to wake up. The good news: If they can get this infection kicked, there's a lot of hope, as they expect his kidneys to return function. The infection is just very powerful. He is moaning a lot, and he has been saying "Oh my God", so it does sound as if his mind may be functioning even though he's not fully lucid. My personal appeal right now is for Mrs. PH. Mr. PH is obviously in the hands of doctors and God. Mrs. PH is going through this mostly alone. Her father's health issues preclude her mother from assisting much, and her sister's husband's issues are the same. Mrs. PH has very little support right now. She can't receive or make texts, but I have her phone number, and the hospital info, if any one would like it to offer her some support in the way of cards, phone calls or even visits, if you're in the Bowling Green area. Please PM me if you'd like that info.
January 27, 201511 yr My thoughts and prayers are with both of my dear PH friends. They are both wonderful people, who stood with me when I needed it most.
