Yeah, I know, but there was something about being a young teenager years ago waiting for that issue to arrive in the mailbox, grabbing it before my mother saw it, and running upstairs to my room to drool over it. You can all make fun of me, but I KNOW that a lot of you can relate to the days of Cheryl Tiegs, Carol Alt, and Christie Brinkley (among others) in the issues! It was also a lot of fun two weeks later to read the letters to the editor blasting the sexism of SI.
January 23, 201511 yr My girlfriend's parents signed me up for Sports Illustrated for some reason, they had free subscription or something. I hate to say it, but I've read one article over a whole year of receiving them for free. It was an article about Anthony Davis, when he was on the cover.
January 23, 201511 yr .... I can remember when I was young, rushing home on Thursdays to get the SI and have it read cover to cover before the end of the weekend. There was no internet, so that was how you got a lot of your non-regional sports information. Not to mention, apropos of this thread, the photography was 2nd to none.
