IT makes me so crazy, to see a team with good players, lose so much and coaching is the problem. Greenup has size ,speed ,and can shoot the lights out of the 3. So many ways this team could play and win, its crazy how Harold Tackett [does not deserve coach be for his name] seems to mess it up. His way ,is the 1 way to lose. its def time for him to go. 3 years under 500, with good players is sad. Sad for the kids , parents, school, and fans. these s kids should be at the top of the 16th, not the bottom. The players made him look better ,last year with a great run in the 16th tournament. Harold Tackett should not coach pee-wee ,let alone high school. And to end this rant, GREAT JOB HAROLD, calling out the refs in the Ashland paper. that seemed to help.. LOL :no:

As to not just take blind jabs at Coach Tackett, can you give us some examples of the his weaknesses in coaching and what his team is lacking on gameday that has you so unhappy with him?

It really doesn't matter. It's been that way for years at Greenup. Let's go back to the Trey Williams team with all those kids 6'5" or better. Best talent in the region. And they crashed and burned. Different coaches, same result. The community lives in the past and pines for the days of Randy Ward. Just ignorant if you ask me, but what do I know? I only grew up a rock's throw from that high school and still didn't attend it.

I was an assistant for Coach Tackett at Logan County. He's a good coach and a great man. If you feel so passionately about your gripes with him, go talk to him about it instead of anonymously posting on a message board.

It seems like Coach Tackett came to Greenup County with after having some fairly solid success at Logan County. When he came Logan County they had won about 50 games total in the course of the previous eight seasons combined. The year before he got there they had only managed a mere two wins.

 

Then within two years of being hired, Coach Tackett posted the most wins in a single season at Logan County in a decade, and then followed that up with a 14-11 season (.560) in 2010/2011, and then a 21-11 season (.656) in 2011/2012. The next season he was hired by Greenup County.
