Is Joe Prince out at Owensboro?

Featured Replies

He was an assistant at OHS probably around 1989 or so - then left for Ohio County and Lville Eastern and became the head coach at OHS in 2003. Done a great job and a great guy - congrats Coach Prince OHS will miss you.

His daughter had moved there, which is the sole reason to go there for him. Good luck.

Get in line behind the Park Hills Mafia.

Prince has done a great job with OHS' program. He's helped get the artificial turf, new weights, cameras for HUDL highlights. Most importantly, he's fostered an environment of discipline and achievement in the classroom. I wish him nothing but the best in his new job in Virginia.

As for the next hire, I hope OHS goes the route of a proven head coach who can take the program to the next level. Here are a few of my choices:

John Edge-Owensboro Catholic

Nick Hart-Gibson Southern (Indiana)

Tony Lewis- Henderson County

Of course, Rush Propst is always welcome to apply. Heck I'm sure Dale Mueller could do well with Owensboro's athletes.

Who?

Getting retirement and then getting the salary in VA. This also a great business decision for him.

Tony Lewis that would be interesting! Haven't thought about that but that would be a quality hire for Oboro!

Joe told me at Hawg Heaven Camp last July. He was going to move closer to his Daughter. Good Luck to a Great Coach and a Better Man.

Sorry to hear Coach Prince is leaving. He was the nucleus of the Red Devils machine. He had great game plans (yes I know they ran out of gas to Highlands). He developed players so well, taking kids with average size and speed and making them real contributors.

As a Purples fan, I'm probably saying thanks for maybe giving us a break for a year or so. Other than Graves and X, O was our toughest game easy.

As a football fan, I'm sad to see a great coach and man leave.

Best of Luck!

OHS will name their new coach tomorrow at 3.

Per twitter OHS has hired Jay Fallin who has been an assistant at OHS.

If this guy is really just 28 let me wish him well, but also note this is a receipe for disaster if he doesn't win at an established program like Owensboro.

I've started a new thread for discussion of Coach Fallin's hire here. We'll leave this thread open for and further discussion of Coach Prince's departure from Owensboro, but please continue any talk about the new head coach in the Fallin thread. Thanks.
