Cop deserves an award for not shooting him.

Why would anyone do this? This is terrible.

No joke. My wife teaches kids this age, and she is forevermore wanting to bring one or another of them home because of various life issues they face. My heart goes out to any child who is mistreated. I'd bet this little girl had faced her share of heartbreaks along the way.

I'm still furious.

I was going to comment, then I've ready what the rest of you have said..especially 2C, so I'll just stay quiet.

I originally read it this morn sitting at our kitchen table....about 5 mins later, my 3 year old little girl walks in, jumps in my lap and starts to fall back asleep while I'm holding her.

....not much in this sickening world shocks me anymore, but this is really bothering me.

Where is the mom?

It's stories like this that leaves me scratching my head at people that are totally against the death penalty. If there was ever a case for it...

My daughter is a grade school teacher of special needs kids. Watusi, the things she has told me about the parents of some of these kids makes your blood boil. One parent STOLE the medication that his kid needed...actually stole his own kids meds for his addiction. There are some real whack jobs out there.

Not for the death penalty for two reasons...(1) if the justice system makes a mistake (which it does multiple times every day) and executes an innocent person, the mistake cannot be reversed and (2) a poor man has a much better chance of being sentenced to death than a rich one.

That being said, this guy deserves the worst. Death may be better than what will probably happen to him in prison. Other inmates will not be real understanding of him as they do not like child murderers and molesters. My guess is they will take turns making this guy's life in prison a living hell...at least I hope so.

Wow. Just unbelievable. Like others have said I can't imagine what his poor child went through during her last moments on earth. I pray and hope during that time all she could see was Jesus there with His arms spread waiting to catch her and all she could hear was His voice telling her she was going to be ok. I do know she is with Jesus now, and will never again experience any pain, suffering or will never cry again.

Not for the death penalty here in part of both reasons you give, but my biggest issue is religious reasons. But this case, and most cases against a brutal murder of a kid, they have me asking questions of why not? But as you pointed out, in prison they HATE crimes against children, IMO if you commit a murder of a child you shouldn't be afforded isolation, you have to live in the general population.

Beautifully said, my friend.

This guy's lawyer called 911 on Wednesday to report he feared what the guy might do, he was concerned about the mental state of the father. Apparently deputies interviewed him and he appeared stable enough that they didn't take any further action.

And there it is... He'll plead insanity and will only get life in prison, if that.
