I actually am a fan of both. Grew up a OSU football fan and UK bball fan and still am.

I could have easily added Bama football fans as well. Heck, they may be the worst of all.

 

Now I'm finally in ! UK Basketball Fan and 'Bama football fan. I don't gloat about UK basketball when they win, I go about my business. I don't feel undervalued nor do I believe I am thin skinned...but I sure don't like OSU, LSU, Auburn, Duke or North Carolina....those fans are obnoxious ! :banana:

That's part of it. Nebraska football has a huge base and they're not like us or OSU.

I'd guess the same way that a lot of us used to be Atlanta Braves fans in the 80's when their game was on TBS every day and the only other games you could find was the Saturday game of the week.

100% accurate. I know plenty of fans of both and they are all equally obnoxious.

 

As a fan of neither of these two entities, I wholeheartedly agree with this post and Clyde's thread. They are exactly the same, and as referenced, when they are good, they are insufferable.

But I have one caveat: There are a goodly number of passionate, yet even-keeled and respectable UK fans on this board. I can't name one in the OSU camp.

 

That's because I refuse to get drawn into many of the "discussions" that are usually posted on here. It's not because I am not passionate about the Buckeyes, but I just get tired of the same old "hater" posts. Not making a blanket statement about everyone on here, but there are definitely those that have their motives in posting.

My conclusion is every fan base sucks and we all hate each other. From dealing with SEC football fans at UK games over the years, almost all of them have been some of the most gracious nice people I've met. I'm guessing most of it is because they knew they were going to beat us and didn't feel threatened lol.

I've done an inventory of OSU fans I know well. 4 are some of the nicest people I know, 3 are obnoxious but not about OSU football and only one is obnoxious about OSU football. He's also obnoxious in everyday life. So that's one out of eight. 12% is pretty good.

I believe someone on here mentioned that in Eastern KY, particularily in the northern section, you will find several OSU FB fans and UK BB fans. To our EKY posters, is that correct?

 

Yes, the Ashland area has a mix of UK, Marshall, and OSU fans in football. However in basketball everyone seems to be a UK fan.

There's not a group more obnoxious than the UK Basketball/SEC Football fans. It's not close.

 

Are you suggesting that there are sports teams North of I-64.

I will read through this, but I hate to say and have to say that I agree with you Clyde.

 

The way I view the majority of OSU fans, is the way most would probably view the BBN. I just try and hope I'm an outlier in the BBN, but to most, we are all the same.
