I would guess that whatever he does, the season will be over before the khsaa declares anything further and he'll have missed his Senior year. Prep school may be his only real option now and I don't know how that works for reclassification.

And maybe I read it on here; but was the Harrison County HC the person who was challenging the kid's eligibility at Scott County so hard and heavy? Or am I misremembering?

That's the word on the street. I'm glad that coach and player were able to put it past them and move on. We could all learn from them.

From what I've heard, they think the KHSAA got the Scott Co situation right but are glad to see him back and playing because he's such a great kid. I've spoke to a few coaches and asked their opinions.

For what its worth. I had a brief conversation with the Harrison County guy in Brooksville as he was watching the Phillies/Lady Bears game and he told me that yes he was reenrolled at HCHS and was back on the team. Now he did also say coach Kendall will probably keep him out for a few games until he gets some pratices in with his new/old teammates to learn the system? :idunno: would probably be around the end of the month before he see any gametime. Again this all hear say I didn't hear it from Kendall just someone that heard it from him

I'm sure many won't agree with me, but I find it a little pathetic that a coach would go out of his way to make sure a kid isn't eligible at another school.

 

I agree. Let bygons be bygons. These kids get four years of high school sports and then it's gone forever. Lewis County had a similar situation this year with a football player that transferred in from West Carter after his parents divorced. WCHS "mistakenly" took too long to send information back to the KHSAA and the kid did not get ruled eligible until Nov. 1st, a couple days after football season concluded for Lewis. He is on the basketball team but does not get to play much. I really think he's playing basketball just because he had his final season of football taken from him.

Yes. When a kid transfers and is ultimately ruled ineligible the only place the kid will be eligible to play is at the school he transferred from. It is my understanding that those are the rules.
