Did you know that 4 teens, 3 black and 1 hispanic did this to a white guy, who was a Bosnian, Im sure they didnt know the difference the night of the protest in ferguson.

Is it possible that the choke hold caused panic with the victim and he experienced a heart attack? What was the cause of death? I know 15 seconds may not be long enough to kill someone as far as cutting off their airway but it could cause enough stress to ignite a massive heart attack. Especially in a heavy set guy like this.

There was a thread on this a few years ago (which also demonstrates how far the "Conservative Tribune: In defense of Western Civilization" had to dig to find what is, I guess, an example of the unraveling of Western Civilization because white people aren't rioting (?) or that no one gives serious thought to the idea that there's ever been a systematized bias against white people due to their race, so that if the officer acted illegally most everyone would have as much confidence as they could muster that the system would work).

So he complaining that we have laws? Complaining we have taxes? And complaining that we have officers enforce the laws and arrest people who break them? Uhhhh ok then.....

 

I think he is more trying to argue the point that he is against big government because they (according to him) indirectly created this situation, this tragedy.

It with the media and since the race is reversed why isnt this a racial profile killing, I personally have no problem because this cop IMO didn't kill based on race. But if a white person kills a black guy then it's always about race. That's what is crap. I don't care that a black cop killed an unarmed white kid, because it's an accident of circumstances, but it ain't allowed to be that way if reversed.

 

Of the killing of the white guy from Bosnia, tell me why that's not being labeled a hate crime?

He could have had an outstanding warrant, I don't know.

 

I will say that after watching to video several times, while the choke hold/neck restraint is getting all the attention, I think that the "pressure on the chest" and "prone positioning" was what led to more of his difficulty breathing. I was a paramedic for 18 years, his medical history of asthma and his poor physical condition aided in his difficulty breathing. That being said, as I stated before, I would think the other factors the police did was more detrimental than the 15 seconds of whatever you want to call it on his neck was. JMHO.

 

I agree. The choke hold itself was short lived. I don't think that by itself caused his death. Quite frankly, he looked a cheeseburger away from a heart attack. Regardless, he still sustained a heart attack rather quickly after being arrested and the lack of attention to him was sad.

 

I have been in my fair share of emergency situations and I know how efficient and awesome paramedics and nurses are. The original video I saw showed the police slow to recognize the situation, but even worse the EMS squad merely checking a pulse and standing around instead of coding him.

 

Would probably not have made a difference in the big picture, but any effort to revive him would have been better than what I saw.

This is a bad situation, no doubt. I feel terrible for the victim and his family. I wonder about the necessity of the arrest, but I don't know all the facts to the circumstances. However, I think it is a "bigness" penalty. I don't think it would have made sense for the officers to line up and take him on one-at-a-time either. Why should they risk injury or death in the performance of their duties? This easily could have been similar circumstances to the Ferguson, MO situation...ending in a shooting, I mean.

So did they ever recover the cigarettes Garner was supposedly selling, or apprehend the people he sold them to?
