I read they rejected a $5M proposal previously.

Hopefully the Garner family can find some kind of peace.

The family had given the city a deadline of this week to reach a settlement or they would take them city to court.

Maybe the statute of limitations was running so as to bar the family's claim, so the family either had to file suit or settle.
