Well, ok so far, but I sure am sorry I said I felt BW is the better team. It has taken the thread in a different direction than I hoped. I wanted to talk more about what Beechwood needs to do better.

I agreee... BW controlled the line of scrimmage. They were the better team last night and the better team lost. You can't turn the ball over that much and expect to win. I think MF coaches know this. Take that to 2a, knowing you were the 2nd best team this year. You're welcome for the going away gift.

Having to play anyone other than MF is all the therapy they need. BW will not be as good next year as they were this year, but they won't have to be. It's a shame, I think the Tigers would hve walked to titles in 2 and 3a, but MF is just better, or at least has a coaching staff that understands how to exploit obvious weaknesses in schemes and personel. No doubt in my mind that if you flip staffs BW wins that game last night, and I'm not sure it would have been close

You are right. Enjoy. Nothing BW can do about it now. Only solace Beechwood can take is we have more titles than Mayfield and I expect you tie Beechwood up in that next week. The Tigers will need to go win some 1A titles without you to at least try and keep that bragging point.

VOR, I really don't have an answer, I think there are areas that could have been tweaked, but for the most part, I think they got pretty much all they could get out of the players. I just think as a WHOLE we have just been SLIGHTLY better some years, and better period the other years.

Guys this "better team" bit is quite funny. The better team is 7-0 against Beechwood. I heard a Beechwood player tell a Mayfield player last night on the field after the game that Mayfield was the best they had played all year. Guys..those are the only opinions that matter in this and the player spoke it. Heck of a nice kid too...wont call his name cause don't want to call him out for being honest because clearly some BW fans on here don't want to hear that.

 

The best team won the game. Save that other horse dung for when you are drinking, talking about the glory days and need to make yourself feel better about all of this. It demeans anyone to fall back on this ridiculous argument when discussing this in a lucid well thought out and honest way.

Wow! I am sure Voice of Reason, who I consider one of the most respected posters on BGP, had no intention for this thread to head in the direction that it has. Knock off the garbage and name calling, please! He stated what he felt and everyone his jumping down his throat. He is entitled to his opinion. I believe the true Mayfield fans know the true and deep respect that Beechwood has for the Cards and there is no reason to get so defensive over an opinion. Both teams last night were the "better teams" in certain aspects of the game. Capitalizing on miscues happened to be the aspect that made the biggest difference and Mayfield was the better team in doing this. Let's move on and not tarnish the nice relationship that these two fan bases had built over the last several years.

Now for the Yeagle & Noel separation - Practically the same Coaches, but Yeagle had 7 Coaches in the Building - Noel is the only Teacher - If U have Coaches talking to Student's - 4 or 5 might want to come out for football - next if You look back - We always had a Star Running Back & linemen from out of district - The Supt. Controls that based on Freshmen Tests - There is an arbitrary score line - say 85 - example is Niko Typel - scored around that, but He has an accounting degree from Ohio University - Menetree is another - Has Doctorate - The current Administration will Only take scores of 95 or higher - so as to keep Beechwood State Scores High - another Factor is Bob Meirhoff ( former Baseball Coach that Beechwood Fired ). The star running back is from out of the district. I think Principal Zimmerman liked football a lot. The point on the band is solid. I have said it in as nice a way as I can for years-Yeagle and his staff were better than Rash and his staff. Beechwood has had very talented players and I guarantee Yeagle and his group wouldn't have been shut out for titles with this group of Juniors. The QB has had three years in the system basically as a starter so it isn't inexperience at that spot. Some coaches need to be reviewed but should have been for years.

 

Obviously something more than Mayfield moving to 2A needs to change.

Zimmerman was a tool! The band is the band. They put in a lot of work and it shows. "Yeagle and his staff were better than Rash and his staff." That's funny cuz it's mostly the same damn staff! The entire offensive side of the ball and several of the other coaches were there when Yeagle was. This isn't the 90's anymore folks so quit trying to compare this season/staff/players to those cuz their is no comparison.

I was at the game and it was obvious early which team was better. After the 99 yard touchdown pass that was not defended, I almost left. I felt that if Beechwood didn't go into half leading by at least 14, they were done. We all know that, in this series, one team adjusts at halftime and one team doesn't. I bailed at half. No need for me to stay, I saw enough.

 

I predict Beechwood will win it all next year and all will be well in Ft. Mitchell. Coach Rash will once again be king. King of what? I'm not sure. If they water down A anymore, it will be called 8 man football.

 

He just isn't getting it done. Period.

 

The better team won. Sorry if that hurts feelings, but it is the truth.
