The 2 3rd down runs on 3rd and 6 and then 3rd and 16 on the very next play is what had me pulling my hair out. If they don't trust Dalton in that situation then why is he playing?

Here was my thought process as that occured. We haven't won at the Texans in something like the last 4 visits there. We need to get points as fast and as much as possible. We were up 7-0 at that point, kick the FG to make it a 2 score difference.

I just wasn't a fan of not going up 2 scores when given the opportunity.

With all due respect, that's the cookie cutter way of playing football and I am sick of the cookie cutter way. It was the right decision to go for it. It is early in the game, you are playing against an inexperienced QB starting only his second game ever with a team who also is playing a back-up RB and if you don't make it they are forcing them to start at the 1 yrd line. I think you be aggressive at that point in the game. IMO, the sharp coaches (Bill B. & Chip K) who aren't afraid to not be "cookie cutter" would have went for it too. The play on the other hand was a terrible call.

Pretty solid game overall. Defense played great and really love Hill.

I did not have a problem going for it on 4th down but hate the play call. The end of the half was atrocious. Dalton with terrible, terrible clock mgt. They had plenty of time to get in FG range. That was terrible.

Any word on the Smith injury? Burfict should be back next week, the defense is getting healthy which is great for Andy and Co. Hopefully they take care of business in Tampa.

Yes, but that 2 almost didn't matter when they were still only down 8 and after kicking a FG a TD puts them ahead. Still huge difference. Basically that 2 pts made no difference, the Bengals could still lose with a FG and TD by Texans.

Agree, but a safety does boost the defense's psyche... And after the safety the Bengals could have and should have at least put up a field goal... If I recall correctly, they did nothing on that offensive drive though.

According to Rotoworld:

Andre Smith suffered a left arm injury in the first quarter, which FOX Sports' Mike Garafolo later reported is believed to be a torn triceps. It's a big blow to Cincy's offensive line, which has dealt with myriad injuries this season.

Defense played huge today.

It wasn't always pretty but a win is a win And this one was a big one to have. Let's keep it going next week.

Who Dey!

I didn't feel confident at all with Nugent taking that kick. Glad he stepped up and put it in.

I am curious what everyone thinks about the horrible clock management again by the Bengals right before halftime. I believe when they got the ball back there was 1:10 left in the half and they only got 1 play off in the last 90 secs.

Reading thru this thread, I wasn't sure if the Bengals won or not. Geez. Two nice back to back road wins. Keep it goin boys.

A run play keeps the clock moving. They had faith in Nugent.

If they would've passed the ball and it went incomplete, you'd be on here complaining they should've ran.

I thought it was a good call to go run and let the clock tick.

You beat me to the post. I know the blue line on TV is not official, but half of Clowney's body was over that line and the side judge did not call it.

O ky watched bits and pieces of the second half but was really unhappy with what I saw out of dalton -- several times under no or very little pressure he spooked out of the pocket and scrambled ... Not a good sign

I wouldn't have complained if they passed. At least they were trying to get a first down to ice it.
