All Louisville Final?

Featured Replies

It is a possibility....has it ever happened before? Would it make the state angry?

Count on this happening tonight!! I'm assuming someone (Hello Mr. Sears) will then try to ban the Louisville schools, or put them in a separate classification?? :D :D

For a while in the 1970's, Louisville teams dominated the Sweet 16, with Male, Central, Valley, Ballard, etc. frequently meeting up in the finals or semis against each other. Edmonson County's championship in 1976 pretty much saved single-class basketball, showing that the rest of the state could compete with Louisville and, to a lesser extent, Lexington schools in the Swete 16.

Well, half of the All-Louisville final is in place...

$10 and $15

Trust me, if PRP beats Apollo here in this upcoming game, you will be able to get tickets MUCH cheaper. And that is a shame, but it is the reality of the state's anti-L'ville bias (and the other attached sociological issues that accompany it).

That is sad but true Jim. Louisville could very easily divert the Ohio river and become a part of Indiana as far as the rest of Kentucky feels about them! This bias has been in place as far back as I can remember!!

It's been 30 years for a reason. The KHSAA doesn't want to see an All-Louisville final. No way, they would loose their...rears

J'Town and Apollo

Looks like it's happened!

Which state???

Indiana

I've talked to some folks out in the east that feel like Loiusville is more like Indiana anyway.

Which is absolutely ridiculous...

Could be ridiculous in your opinion but they seem to feel strongly that way.

I couldnt resist, but Apollo is from Owensboro. They beat Louisville PRP. So it did'nt happen.

Why will it make the state angry? Haven't all the schools had the same chance to move forward? J'Town and PRP (if they get there) will have deserved it as much as anyone. This all just goes to show that rankings mean absolutely nothing come tourney time.

If it is an all L'Ville final - so be it. It's up to the rest of the state to catch them. Also, as already pointed out, it has been nigh on 30 years since it last happened, so it's not exactly a dynasty we have going on.

Just my twopennorth!

And also insulting to Louisville! L'ville is part of the bluegrass and we are proud to have em! :thumb:

I was not going to the game tonight regardless of who was playing but I did go to the session this morning. During the Apollo/PRP game I heard several people say that if PRP won the 2nd game that they would not be attending the championship game to watch two Louisville teams play. I like to see regions 13-16 do good and I have found myself rooting for the 11th region a lot lately also. Besides that I could care less what teams are playing for the title.

During the Graves/Jtown game the whole arena was rooting for Graves County, besides the Charger fans and it was the same way for the 2nd game with the crowd getting pretty loud for Apollo in the 4th quarter.

Louisville is nothing like Indiana!
