It's funny the fans who had UK with 5-6 wins, they included a win over MSU... not too many people thought MSU would be a top 5 team in the country this year.

 

But on the other end, no one thought USC would be as bad as they are.

People only remember how you finish a season and this one will leave a pall of disappointment over it if they do not beat U of L. It's not really right since I think the Cats have exceeded most expectations. It's just the way things are.

Thank you mcpapa. It seems 4-5 wins was the consensus. Kentucky has 5 wins now, have been looking for their 6th for a few weeks now.

 

That raises another question. Why do some argue that the season is a failure, considering the consensus for a good season was 4-5 wins?

 

They have 1 win that was not a given, vs USCeast, who is struggling and needed a miraculous 4th quarter to get that one. Not sure if failure is appropriate, but the way they are finishing is very disappointing. I predicted 5 wins, I thought they would beat Mizzou. I'm not even ready to say they are improving, again when you only beat the very weak teams on your schedule that doesn't bode well for that argument. The last two weeks have been very alarming, not competitive for even a second.

I think I predicted four but felt as snake bit UK is, watch them go into the UofL game (a team and coach they haven't had much luck with) with 5 wins needing that win to make them bowl eligible and lose. I hope my prediction does not come true but UofL is playing pretty well and UK is playing like the season beat them up.

Sure, I thought they could have a shot. That would mean they won 1 game they were not supposed to win, which they did. It is not as if they won 2-3 games we were not anticipating.

Same here. Then I came across interesting stat the other day. Best record (SEC conference games) past two years:

Alabama 13-2

Missouri 12-3

Auburn 12-4

Georgia 11-5
