JDEaston Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 The reason I ask is because I didn't, I felt like 4 wins would be their max before the season started. Now that we are deep in the season, UK has won 5, the game I didn't expect was the S.C. game. So here they are one win from a bowl game, but the question here is who expected a bowl game from a team that won 2 games last season? Edit: Let's try to stay on.subject.
strongopenyon Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 I thought Kentucky had about a zero chance for a bowl game at the start of this season. I predicted 4 or 5 wins. My buddies were giving me all kinds of heck after we started 5-1, but have been very quiet since then.
ColonelCrazy Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 I don't remember if I went 'on the record' but I didn't expect them to make a bowl game.
RomanEmpire Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 I thought they would headed to L'ville looking for 6.
JDEaston Posted November 18, 2014 Author Posted November 18, 2014 I thought they would headed to L'ville looking for 6. Good call.. You seem to be the only one.

JDEaston Posted November 18, 2014 Author Posted November 18, 2014 Thank you mcpapa. It seems 4-5 wins was the consensus. Kentucky has 5 wins now, have been looking for their 6th for a few weeks now. That raises another question. Why do some argue that the season is a failure, considering the consensus for a good season was 4-5 wins?
Randy Parker Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 That raises another question. Why do some argue that the season is a failure, considering the consensus for a good season was 4-5 wins? I think "failure" is too strong, but even I cannot deny how disappointing the team has been lately. I can accept going 0-6 to finish the year. I can accept getting pounded at LSU. But the team's play against Georgia, Missouri, & Tennessee was really, really awful & not acceptable. The last thing this program needs is a lopsided loss at UL, but I fear that's what is coming.

I've said it for years, it takes depth to win in the SEC.In the past the games in the fist half of the season were lopsided, especially in the second half of games. It will take a couple more.recruiting classes to change things.
Randy Parker Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 Did we not expect some lopsided losses at this point in the season? I didn't expect the team to play this poorly in 4 of these last 5 games. When UK was 5-1, a lot of fans went crazy about predicting these last 6 games. I didn't buy into all that talk, but neither did I believe we'd see the team perform so poorly with such consistency. Again, though, the team has exceeded my expectations in terms of wins & losses. And I too hope that a couple more recruiting classes will change things.

I imagine recruiting is the only cure when you inherit a team as bad as UK was when Stoops came. The early start was fool's gold, as they had not gotten into the meat of the schedule yet. Yet they did win the games they were supposed to +1 with the south Carolina win. To me that is a succesfull season considering what Stoops had to work with. A bowl game would be nice, but how can you demand that or failure after a 2 win season last year?
okie1 Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 http://bluegrasspreps.com/college-football/kentucky-football-schedule-270285.html It's funny the fans who had UK with 5-6 wins, they included a win over MSU... not too many people thought MSU would be a top 5 team in the country this year.
