One of those fun things about Petrino being back at Louisville: he's even more into beating Kentucky than any fan I know. Petrino wants this game badly and won't take it lightly or let the players take it lightly.

 

If a couple things break right, Louisville's still in contention for an Orange Bowl bid. Cats looking for bowl eligibility for the first time in a while. Big game for both teams, which is exactly what the powers that be were hoping for when they shifted this game to late November.

This is one that Bobby loves to lay it all out there....it's Senior day.....DeVante's going away party....I could be way off base, but I have a feeling Bobby will go full throttle on this one....see what he says, below, when asked about next week's game...

I was told the early line is 12. I think the psychological elements are in UK's favor.

That would be very shocking to me....I hate how confident I feel in this one.....I truly feel that Bobby is going to throttle them.

I think UK should just forfeit. No need getting beat up any more this year.

I think this game is a lot closer than everyone thinks. Just because the Cats have has 2 weeks to get ready.

They are going to say there isn't any pressure to win, and then if UK pulls off the upset, they'll talk about it like it's the Super Bowl.

I was listening to the Tom Leach show this morning and they had a guest commentator (I missed his name but I don't believe he is a UK proponent like Leach or Matt Jones so I took his assessment as unbiased). This commentator mentioned that the UK Defense just looks a step slower at this point of the season compared to the first half. He mentioned defensive linemen and linebackers not able to stop the run due to being slower and he mentioned the Defensive corners and safeties not having the closing speed to cover wr's like earlier in the season. He assumption was that the lack depth has just taken a physical toll on UK and they just are no longer at 100% and it is showing.

 

If his assessement is true, is two weeks enough to recover to be back at or atleast near 100%? Or does this defense need an entire off season?

 

Not sure. This Cat fan hopes UK can get away with a victory but feels that UK will need the turnever ratio to be in UK's advantage to help out the defense and that Towels will need to have a game like he did against Florida or Miss State to pull that win off.

I love that you're already setting yourself up to criticize UK fans regardless of what happens.

 

1) UK fans expect to lose: "UK will always be terrible! The fans accept mediocrity!"

3) UK loses, fans aren't upset: see line 1

4) UK loses, fans ARE upset: see line 2

5) UK wins, fans are excited: "You guys are acting like you wont the super bowl."

6) UK wins, fans aren't excited: "UK will always be a basketball school!"

 

There is pressure to win every game, but nobody should come close to expecting a UK win.

 

If UK pulls off the miracle, on the road, against their #1 rival who is ranked in the top 25, to stop a 5 game losing streak, triple their win total from each of the last two years, and become bowl eligible for the first time since 2010, well.... yeah, we'll be excited about that.
