I can tell you I know Jared personally. He is a great person. I'm sure it didn't come out like he meant it. Yes, he said it, but it's all just to point out the rival and hatred/respect for Louisville. I say respect because there isn't a rivalry without some kind of respect. If the other team is not a threat, there is no rivalry. The "hatred" is real on both sides and until you're in front of a mic having open conversation, it's hard to judge others that really don't do it for a living. He said it, but all of you are wrong about the man's character.

I think that's fair. There's no doubt in my mind that my opinion of UK fans in general has a lot to do with being a Louisville fan in Jefferson County and dealing with this rivalry every single day in a way that I don't know if people from elsewhere in the Commonwealth fully understand.

He's not complaining, he's pointing out a fact. Living in Louisville and being a part of this rivalry is night and day versus other parts of the state. What other part of the state has such a divided group of fans? What part of the state is even remotely close?

I'm saying that the rivalry is different in Jefferson County. How many Louisville fans are there around the state? 12? You can go for days and not have to talk about UofL.

 

There are thousands of UK fans here in this county and it makes the rivalry different because you constantly talk about it 365 days a year with fans of your archrival that are just a part of your life.

 

It adds a different color to the rivalry when it's a part of your daily life.

Making fun of an Injury and talking about an injured kid is pretty similar...but I'm sure you don't see it that way.

 

Deuce your a good guy, instead of just reading what was said, Listen to the entire thing. I think it'll take a little edge off of it when you hear it versus just reading it.

I hear what you're saying... But a newspaper article by someone who has poked fun at both universities is different from a former player of one university making questionable comments about the other. It's just not the same.

 

I've listened to it this morning. The "I hope Parker and Dyer are out too" is what I have a problem with. You just don't say that. To me, that's like saying "I hope they are all hurt." Maybe I'm wired different, but it was inappropriate. The other two guys didn't say anything of the sort, and I'm they aren't Louisville supporters either.

Yeah if he's talking about them getting hurt that's bad, if he's talking about them just not being available to play it's not as bad. He said today he didn't mean for them to be hurt, just not play or something like that...I wasn't paying real close attention.

Have never seen or heard him be hateful in any way. If he had said something that UL fans are insinuating he said than I would call him out on it. Agreed. Plenty here in Owensboro. Yes they are a minority, but they are out here.
