Jared Lorenzen blasted over Louisville injury remarks

But you could argue that this is.

 

Former Highlands High School and University of Kentucky star quarterback Jared Lorenzen has drawn criticism - particularly on Twitter - for remarks he made on Kentucky Sports Radio about archrival Louisville.

 

Lorenzen said of the season-ending injury to Cardinals quarterback Will Gardner: "I don't feel at all for Louisville. I hope (DeVante) Parker and (Michael) Dyer are out too. ... Couldn't happen to a better team."

 

Lorenzen did say he felt terrible for Gardner, especially because he plays quarterback. But damage was done just after he said that. It is, after all, one thing if you say that about UK's archrival to a buddy on the phone or at a party, and another if you say it while you're a featured guest on Kentucky Sports Radio.

I kind of have mixed feelings on this, probably not ok to say but tailor made for a show that features UofL hate week.

I have teams that I hate too and I NEVER am happy to see their players get injured.

Stupid comment to make. I realize he's targeting his comments towards U of L and that's fine, the problem is that when an injury is involved you really have to be careful. We're talking about hurt people here.

As usual, you are the voice of reason in UK-fandom....as well as BGP in general. To paraphrase Jim Rome, more of you (posting) and less of me (and others posting) is good for BGP.

I was just listening to the podcast. I like Lorenzen, but this was a stupid thing to say.

He's like a good number of UK (and UL) fans. There are some really crazy, rabid fans out there who make all look bad.
