I know people who benefitted who aren't lazy or an illegal immigrant. They are just in a bad spot. It doesn't matter what the system is there will always be people who abuse it. Just like there are people that we all work with who abuse the FMLA system.

I'll be honest and admit I am one of the stupid American voters he is talking about because I have zero ability to understand economics in our country. The depth of my economic knowledge begins and ends with my bank account and credit score. I really don't care about anything else. His arrogance and tone aside are his words correct and what does the American voter have to do with something we don't even vote on?

You are right that some very good people (not lazy - just have some very unfortunate circumstances) have benefited from Obamacare...no doubt. There are also many more very good people who have been hurt by it...

No . He's not right at all . You dont set aside arrogance and tone when making a value judgement on whether to align your self with people that think that way . Liberals always always always have a certain condescension about them that " we know better than you " . Your choice on what to do about it is STOP promoting and following and voting for these fools .. Why do we have a arrogant , inflexible , foul sounding govt right now ? First of all, by your posts I know you are not stupid...but like many (most) of the voters in this country, you are "blind". You will follow Obama no matter what. You are not alone in that many republicans will follow "their guy" no matter what. We are a totally divided country right now and almost everyone has taken a side and will not budge no matter what their guy does.

 

These Gruber quotes are as close to a smoking gun as you can get - the guys pushing Obamacare knowingly lied about it to get it passed, think of American voters as stupid and are so arrogant that they will brag about it multiple times...and yet, the press (other than talk radio and Fox) is basically ignoring this because of its openly rooting for all things Obama. If I heard a Republican saying this stuff, I would want him run out of town immediately (and believe me, the press would be ALL OVER IT and rightfully so). The problem is that when we accept this kind of stuff from our politicians (and make no mistake about it, Gruber is speaking for Obama here - he is Obama's guy), we can only expect more of the same.

He was also Romney's guy at one point also. The thing folks keep glossing over or ignoring is that he was the architect for RomneyCare first which is what got him on board for ObamaCare.

I also know people who benefited from it that work and are American. That I have no problem with. I also have no problem with helping people who cant work, elderly, laid off, or cant find work.

 

I also know lazy bums and illegal immigrants who sneak in here, have a baby, and get full benefits because their kid is a legal citizen.

 

I dont feel its my job or duty to take my money from my family to feed or take care of a person who sneaks into America for the sole reason of getting free handouts/food/phones/healthcare/housing.

You're kidding, right?! That's not an exclusively liberal attitude! Heck, I read conservative posts here on BGP on a daily basis that are calling liberals "stupid", "sheep", "numskulls (sic)". National Dems are running from Gruber, they're not stupid at all. I imagine we're going to get pretty familiar with him as his videos are used in the next election cycle.
